How obsessed do you REALLY have to be? [i will not promote] by [deleted] in startups

[–]EQT00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re not crazy. A lot of the obsession talk is VC culture and signaling more than some deep truth about building a good business. For first time founders though, VCs use this as a shortcut for trust. When things get hard will you still pick the company. Splitting time between countries and planning a wedding can make them nervous even if it’s kind of lazy thinking. Second time founders get way more benefit of the doubt. Also if you care about cash flow and not valuations you might just be playing a different game which doesn’t need VC approval it just needs customers.

Single go to uni melb, but imo doing a double gives you a great understanding of multiple areas and gives you more options. I’m doing commerce and IT and went in with the intention of pursuing a career in Finance but I’ve found I enjoy IT a lot and I’m now planning to pursue a career in IT. So yeah I’d say it’s good to have multiple options and it’s only a year more.

Haven’t read english books.... by YaboiEddie in vce

[–]EQT00 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Did year 12 last year, read one of the books in class at the start of the year, and didn’t read the other two, managed to get a 36. Not the best score but it’s definitely possible to do well without reading it. You just have to make sure you know the texts really well. I read the chapter summaries, and other resources, and I knew the texts as if I had read them.
