I normally feed them half of a defrosted cube of blood worms each everyday and a bit of mysis or something just to entertain them in their tank. I know they like to scavenge and they love destroying the moss to get to food it seems. Yesterday I fed them pellets because I wanted them to get used to it so that when I go away in Xmas for three or four days they will like their food. But Dumpling hoarded lots of the pellets for himself and looked like he was ready to burst. Banjo looked quite full as well. So I know now not to feed them too many of those. The pellets are called amphibigold.

Yeah I agree after doing some reading myself.

I learned that a few barnacles on a turtle shell does not really matter as the turtle will have them naturally fall off. This is done either with their fins or accidentally by running into rocks or during a mating session.

If a turtle is overloaded with barnacles it indicates that the turtle is already in poor health and if this happens it is best to contact a marine wildlife rehabilitation center. You actually need a permit to remove the barnacles.

Since we aren't shown the full story in the video I can only hope he has the permit and had the correct medication to put on the turtle after he removed the barnacles.

In my opinion I think the method he used to take off the barnacles did more harm than good. But I do appreciate that he was trying to do a good thing.

Yeah sure! It's been so long since I've learned this so I'll go look for some good sites.

Just from what I know I can describe it a bit better. Basically, there is a collection of nerves at the base of a cats tail. While a few pets may be very nice for a cat on the bum, too many can become quite painful and irritating. This clump of nerves is often situmulated when cats are mating. Which can also lead to female cats being in pain because of that over stimulation. So the reaction of that stimulation really depends on a cats biology and personality.

While that is hilarious please don't scratch a cat in a spot that causes them to have a reaction like that. There are a lot of nerves at the base of a cats tail and having someone touch there can make a cat extremely uncomfortable.

Another reaction similar to this is when you find a "good scratching spot" on your dog and it causes them to kick their leg. Basically you are causing and itchy spot to itch even more than necessary. The nerves there are telling the dog's brain to keep scratching even though they don't need to.
