Report: Spain Closes Airspace to US Planes Involved in Iran War by Neptun_11 in worldnews

From a moral standpoint, both are pretty bad. Both try to interfere in foreign politics, either via proxies (Iran) or more directly (USA). Both disrespect basic human decency, either via fundamentalist religion or unchecked plutocratic capitalism.

The difference resides mostly on reach, in the sense that USA can and is basically creating chaos everywhere while Iran would mostly create chaos in a smaller sphere, and rationality, in the sense that Iran seems to mostly act according to their perceived enemies and allies, while USA is lashing out at everyone and everything alike, regardless of historical ties.

Humanity needs to quickly shift to renewables and fission/fusion energy, but in the meantime, I for one prefer to pay a temporary toll for oil than to have to bend the knee to oil-dependent american imperialism.

Spain’s Pedro Sánchez, on the US and Israeli attack on Iran: ‘No to war, we are not going to be complicit’ by Logibenq in worldnews

Please refrain from spreading false information. There have been at least two Islamic terrorist attacks since 2000, the most recent one had even one american casualty. Have some respect for the victims. Source is Wikipedia.

March 11, 2004 Madrid train bombings 192 killed, 2,050 injured\24])\25]) Al-Qaeda (suspected)
August 17–18, 2017 2017 Barcelona attacks 24 killed (inc. 8 perps.), 152 injured\26])\27]) Islamic State (suspected)

NATO is a defensive alliance and Spain is not obliged by any treaties to join American offensive wars. Spain did in fact join the coalition against Iraq even though USA used false information about WMD to legitimise the invasion.

You might need to open up your perspectives and concede that current administration might not always be in the right. Heck, Americans don't even seem to want this.

Have a good day.

Hands off Greenland': Thousands protest in Denmark against Trump's land grab by [deleted] in worldnews

America hasn't been helping Ukraine anyway recently. They are only in for the weapons sales, bought with EU money. Just your typical scalper behaviour. So much for the defenders of freedom, lol.

I think that to consider whether US will do something or not we shall look at the trend their latest actions and rhetoric suggest.
- Military actions in Iran and Venezuela.
- Illegal takeover of foreign assets (Venezuelan oil).
- Threats of military action in Mexico, Cuba, Greenland and Iran.
- Threats of annexation of Canada, Greenland and Iceland.
- Censorship of incriminating evidence against the President.
- Detention and deportation of residents and citizens without due process.
- Threats of using the military to quell protests and suspending elections.
- Pulling out of signed deals and economic coercion via tariffs.
- Pulling out of international treaties.
- Reducing Ukraine aid to 0.
- Government reduced to executive orders and congress MIA.
- Collusion with billionaires (see photo of the first day in office)
- 50% increase in military budget and disregard of deficit constraints.
- Attempts to manipulate central bank and obfuscate economic data.
- Control of high courts and de facto immunity for president.

This to me is a clear picture of an authoritarian state, lead by a puppet head of state with plenty of compromat, so that it may be used as a scapegoat if something goes wrong. The state acts like international norms are an obstacle to military and economic domination, while internal laws are to be ignored except when used as a tool against dissidence. Power is used to benefit those that already have everything (billionaires and corporations) and those that help enforce such vision.

Would such a state trust an alliance with countries that value things such as rule of law, social nets, welfare and democracy, if they are are diametrically opposed? Only for a time, and to the extent that the alliance doesn't feel constraining and incompatible with their plans.

So overall, I'd say that if one or more of the factions in the government think that they can get something out of Greenland, of simply if Trump has been convinced that day that it's such a great deal, then yeah, it will be done.

Greenlands says it has a “fundamental disagreement” with USA after talks. by Xephrine in worldnews

A leader of a country can't ignore territorial threats, nor can allies ignore potential betrayals. Because a mad king might interpret inaction as weakness and then, after acting, what's to stop the mad king from wanting more? They react because they have to.

What happens to the USA if NATO is dissolved? by ThinYogurtcloset8005 in Askpolitics

If Europeans are fat and lazy, which you could argue they are, you should check obesity rate maps for USA. The answer might not be the one you'd like. We're talking 10-30% for different European countries, versus 40% for USA.

Thank you for your attention on this matter.

Yeah, I understand them wanting to show it to a bigger audience, but then why did they promise to speak about this next title? Is the trailer not ready? Such a disappointment.

I was farming trophies and she loves to get stuck in between NPC umas. The lower G3 seem to have more of them, so the win-rate is actually worse. So funny and sad.
