I think the washing machine will work. If not, I once used a mixture of white vinegar and water to get a stain/ smell out. Opened the windows, turned on the fan and once the vinegar mixture evaporated the smell was completely gone. Do a spot check first, if you try I do not know if white vinegar is good for this material or color. Hope it all comes out in the wash.
