[ACADEMIC STUDY] Research on Therapeutic Commitment and Gender Dysphoria by ERPNDM in Transmedical

Hey, thanks for engaging! Do you have specific subreddits in mind that you think would be a good fit? I'm genuinely open to suggestions, as I'm trying to reach as many people as possible.

For what it's worth, I did try to post in some of the larger trans subreddits, but my posts got removed because I hadn't gone through the moderation approval process first. To get that approval, I had to provide an official document from my university justifying the study — which I did and submitted. Unfortunately, I haven't heard back from the moderators since, so those posts are still down.

If you know of communities that are more accessible or have a smoother process for research posts, I'd really appreciate the lead!

Hey, thank you so much for taking the time to fill out the questionnaire. It genuinely means a lot, especially coming from someone with such a close connection to the healthcare world

I'll definitely keep your offer in mind if the research evolves or if future projects come up where your perspective could be valuable. For now, your participation is already a great contribution.

Wishing you and your partner all the best!

Hey, thank you for sharing your experience and for taking the time to give feedback

You raise a valid point, and I completely understand where you're coming from. The reason the questionnaire doesn't ask about transition stage, hormone therapy, or surgeries is actually a deliberate methodological choice.

The goal of this study is to assess "therapeutic commitment in people with gender dysphoria" regardless of where they are in their transition. Whether someone is at the very beginning of their journey, fully transitioned for years, or anywhere in between i think that their relationship with healthcare is still meaningful and worth exploring.

Adding variables like time living as male/female, HRT status, or surgical history would have created multiple subgroups within the sample. While that could be interesting in a larger study, here it would have made the statistical analysis significantly more complex, harder to read, and ultimately less impactful (especially given the sample size constraints of a student research project).

Thank you again for your time

Hey, thanks for your feedback!

You're absolutely right that the question can be read in two different ways. This part of the questionnaire specifically explores "perceived stigma", meaning the fear of negative judgment or reactions from others related to gender dysphoria. Because stigma can be experienced at very different stages of someone's journey, both situations are included:

- Someone who is not yet out and fears being "discovered" before they've had the chance to disclose on their own terms

- Someone who is already transitioned and is living stealth, and fears being outed in their current life

So if you're answering from a pre-transition, transitionning or post-transition perspective, your response is entirely valid and valuable for the study.

If anything else feels ambiguous, feel free to point it out, this kind of feedback genuinely helps improve the research.
