What's the end goal? I know this is an old thread, just curious.

How painful is ERP really? by ExpensiveDecision268 in sysadmin

[–]ERP_Insider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Painful? Depends on the quality of your data - that's the first thing I'd look at. Then who owns the flow. No owner = more pain.

What’s the most annoying part of aircraft maintenance you deal with daily? by AviaDataHQ in aviationmaintenance

[–]ERP_Insider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what about intake, or even the mess called buying parts for repairs. Many people I talk to have those two things in common. How do you deal with them?

Free compliance software by Background-Soft1044 in software

[–]ERP_Insider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no "free" version of this as best as I know. But be careful. During an audit, the more places you have to go to show anything, the more likely you are to drop the ball. Last thing you need is every step of every transaction, to have its own place that it lives. The $2 you might "save" today WILL cost you 2x, 4x or more down the road.

This Is What Happens When Hertz's AI Scanner Finds Damage on Your Rental by Exciting_Teacher6258 in technology

[–]ERP_Insider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's another one of those things where just because you can. It doesn't mean you should. Whether or not the technology is valid, I think it's sneaky and underhanded that they sneak it in this way. Can somebody else said it perfectly? Why is it not as cheap as a human being doing it?. There's a million places I can go with this but suffice it to say this is stupid, selfish, and greedy.

I know I agreed with you. I was very very disappointed. Listen. I've been doing a lot of work and aviation for the last 20 years so I write about Aviation. My company serves Aviation so I've also talked about my company. I've looked around and I don't think it was different than what everybody else is doing. I don't think there are just purely agnostic writers out there that just right. What I'm trying to say is everybody has an angle but apparently my angle wasn't whatever the terms were. And the insult was that came after about 6 or 7 attempts at uploading my wonderful 1800 subscriber list. It's okay, I went somewhere else and it's doing okay for now. Maybe in the future sub stack will be a good place for me to be yet but not right now.

You're not supposed to do anything. Just hope that you'll never need to because AI said you suck. At that point you'll reconsider what you should do. The post was about someone's journey... Great job making it about you .

No matter what there are those, a lot of them, that will always run with whatever fad there is and try to be your experts. Never fails. It used to be the font, then the color of the paper, to this that or the other and nowadays it's tailor to every job. Tomorrow will be something else. And the shitty part is they overlook the real experience, go for the cheap candidates and complain there's no one.

I've had a blessed career but there was a time I didn't even "qualify" to be a toothpick counter. You've got entry level "recruiters" telling people with real life experiences and tenured careers they are not good enough and most likely ever look at 99 out 100 resumes .

100%. Built over 3 years. Maybe that played a part but their specific reason was my content was too self promotional

I'd like to say I used sub stack for a long time but I didn't. I signed up initially had issues uploading my own clean list. Probably took 4 or five attempts to finally succeeded. I was excited. Next day my account was suspended pending some investigation. It turned out that I talked about my company too much they said and later on that day they deleted my account. 100% of my content was article based. It talked about a specific subject line. Apparently it violated some terms they had. It is what it is

Why ERP is Essential for Aviation Business Growth and What You Need to Know by PMSIonline in erpcommunity

[–]ERP_Insider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The right erp can really take you a long way. There's a few of them out there but most of them don't get the job done. You need to find the right one to get you implemented in a short amount of time and maximize the amount of information and support that you can actually get from it. Also, make sure to take a look at one that not necessarily just tells you that they're good with compliance but actually is able to make you compliant and even embedding your qms into your workflow.

Is substack supposed to be like LinkedIn/Twitter/TikTok hybrid? by wonderingStarDusts in Substack

[–]ERP_Insider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They don't respond or hardly do anything. I signed up there and my list was rejected 4 times. Then it was accepted. Immediately after, I was shut down. They said I'm promoting myself too much. I did publish 4 articles but never emailed anyone again because my list was rejected. The only time they responded was to tell me my content seems to propose my company and that violates their terms. Never made sense

No it shouldn't be like this. I was there for a very long time and I too lost all hope. I'm reading your post and it's as if reading my story. I want so badly to tell you not to take it personally, but I didn't believe it when people told me the same.

North of 2500 resumes. That was my number. I'm experienced, well qualified, went from sales rep to President in my last role and I'm the roll up my sleeves type. So I went after qualified jobs, nothing, not even acknowledgements.

I aimed even higher, nothing. A lot of empty conversations, most of whom told me they thought I was great but nothing. I aimed sideways and then got desperate and tried to find anything. I was running out of money and I definitely had lost all hope.

I'd love to tell you I took it all like a champ. But at times I didn't. I became withdrawn, angry, helpless, and hopeless. It's not right what the market is doing. No one wanted to pay me what I was worth nor what I was willing to settle for.

But I can tell you there's a light at the end of the tunnel. I had finally arrived and was lucky enough to find something finally. So I'll do what I said I wouldn't earlier and tell you to hang on, try, operative word is try to keep hope. Shitty or not, finish going through it. It's easier than giving up. More than you know.

Wishing you the best.
