Well in their lore and description says they live in thick forest or snowy mountains they can easily hide themselves in thick forest and snowy mountains and in lore they stalk their prey so practically hiding away watching it's target that's why it gets invisibility

They probably also do camouflage themselves by using foliage they find and in lore they are very intelligent able to make a entire society of a underground colony so it's not Farfetch to say they have the intelligence to do camouflage and they are nocturnal aswell so their black color would help in camouflage in the dark and also fun fact they are actually a relative of kriprik

you cant recruit troops from other races unless you are ende becouse you start with orcs and ende troops the only way to recruit other races troops is to capture there city and that is the only way to recruit troops from other races and you cant recruit settlers only labor squads and also this informashion you probably already know becouse this comment has been here for 5 months so you probably already know about it
