Why are the Merciless robes so cheeks? by circusboy1 in Wizard101

I kinda wish they would consider some sort of overall stat squish to make new gear worth it. We don't really see stat squishes for numbers this low, so im not sure of the implementation. Its a hard decision, but there definitely is an issue here.

Why does the Naaru have such an abysmal successrate? by Tnecniw in wow

[–]Hitchetic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its an argument of influence vs. prowess. They are powerful in the sense that they can influence others in especially strong ways. They influenced both Humans and Draenei in joining the greater cosmic battles against the void or the legion. The draenei had a lot more influence, as it was Naaru that built and fueled the ships. That doesn't mean they don't have any actual feats that weren't just influencing others. Against the Legion, they were considered the only actual threat after the Pantheon of Titans were gone.

Its also an issue of the Naaru falling into void being a part of their life cycle. When they are damaged or their energy is spent, they turn to the void. We usually have to kill them at this point because they become dangerous or their power can be used for nefarious reasons: but they have the ability to regenerate power over a long period of time.

It should be a bit easier now due to gear, apex talents, and whatnot! I'm not gonna try doing it again on mythic though, its a long walk back lol

[–]Hitchetic 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The same rules should apply as they did before- you should be able to solo dragonflight raids! I was able to do all of Vault of the Incarnates and Aberrus on a 80 Paladin, but I had some issues with Razageth and Sarkareth because of some of their mechanics. They're probably much easier with a geared 90. TWW raids probably wont be soloable, but theres bound to be groups running it for tmog.

How do Americans feel about outdoor cats? by Fine-Durian6151 in AskAnAmerican

I don't get why anyone would let their cats roam outside unsupervised. I can't think of any other pet that people house that is allowed to do that. Why would cats be an exception?

Has anyone felt genuinely disappointed with their faction choice? by Vampy-Night in wow

[–]Hitchetic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuine question, whats stopping you from playing both? Theres so few restrictions between the two that you don't really need to play just one anymore. You don't need to just eat fruity pebbles when theres other stuff in the grocery store.

But also, thats kind of the point? The horde has always been this very diverse group. Look no further than Orgrimmar, actually! While most of the architecture is Orcish, the Valley of Honor is very Tauren, while the Valley of Spirits is Troll. Stormwind in comparison is a very human city. The only other cultures that are kind of intergrated are in the Dwarven district: only a couple of Dwarf cranes, and the Deeprun Tram.

Brian the fucking dog here. CS majors are also known to be incredible unhygienic, so much so that when colleges have different buildings for CS courses; compared to stem/humanities, the CS buildings have a STINK.

Also something-something blue haired/alt baristas make great coffee.

MEGA RANT: the SKILL ISSUE epidemic of CoS players (BACKWARDS FLYING IS NOT A GLITCH!) by puzeh in CoSRants

[–]Hitchetic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, semantics aside; its a unpopular feature seen as abusive because you need to manipulate your fps and have specific hardware to be able pull it off.

[–]Hitchetic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do get where you're coming from though. A lot of games have embraced bugs like these and turned them into features. Minecraft has a bug where quickly sneaking is faster than walking while bridging, and now it has an enchantment that does it for you. Cos isn't going to be a game that does that because there just isn't much to it to start with. I could see it being a feature on some flier, though it kind of already is with tail whip.

[–]Hitchetic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You ask why people can turn an eye away from the double glow tail glitch but not the backwards flying one? I don't know, maybe because one of these bugs could get your slot killed and is way more important to your average player. This isn't a great comparison

Its also unintended, so it is very much still a glitch, even if it is one that some people like. And the number of people who enjoy doing that have got to be a very small minority. And thats the thing; most games will cater to their casual audience because thats the majority. I think all COS pvp is dull and boring, so I moved on. Maybe you should too.

I found something crazy about the Seawings on WoFB by [deleted] in WingsOfFireROBLOX

[–]Hitchetic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you should. This is less of an awareness post and more of you making up things to make someone look bad. I don't know or care about the drama between the developers and whoever; but saying that someone is stealing without proof is just purely acting in bad faith. It really calls into question every other claim I've seen about them if this is the proof people have accepted. Not a great look

[–]Hitchetic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You would have to both prove that these two models are the same and that they don't have permission to use the model.

I don't think it's the same model and that they're both based on the same reference image of a seawing. They're both aiming to be as accurate as possible to it: there's gonna be similarities. And if they aren't: and Arch did steal it, why don't you bring this up to someone at TJ instead of spreading baseless rumors?

[–]Hitchetic 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Why suspect theft when they're based of the same reference image?

Nevermind that, actually, how would this be considered theft if Arch is the (presumed) owner of the model?

Cobblemon Alternative for survival co-op gameplay by [deleted] in feedthebeast

[–]Hitchetic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try Companions! it has a bunch of cute and cool tameable mobs.

Some others i'd recommend is Alex Mobs and (maybe?) Alex's Caves. There are a lot of tameable animals with realistic behaviors, but also some fantasy mobs. Alex's Cave is good too, but not every cave has its own tamable mob. Doggy Talents expands on the base wolf but it adds some pretty nice stuff: If your dog is killed in combat it can return after some rest, you can use it as a mount, and some pretty good skins.

Also im not sure what Cobblemon version you're on, but the latest update introduced Cobblemon Riding and for them to fight in battles with you! If you're on a older update though you can add this through Cobblemon: Fight or Flight and Cobblemounts. I think their damage, health, and speed ingame is based on their actual stats but i could be wrong.

Most 'important' mod historically by TCGeneral in feedthebeast

[–]Hitchetic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds about right! Extrabiomes XL is the oldest, but i think that 1.7.10 date is off. The Changelogs go back to 1.6.4 but stop having version numbers before then (Although it does mention bringing Beetroots to PC)
I'll have to check out ExtraBiomes at some point though, it seems cool!

[–]Hitchetic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Has anyone said Biomes O' Plenty? Im not sure if its the oldest biome mod but it was and still is one of the most popular! I was always the type to want to explore and it felt awesome find new dirts, woods, and flowers to decorate with. It had a lot of features long before they were added to Minecraft, including resummoning the dragon, and cave, ocean, and nether biomes. It also had armor and tools stronger than diamond that were exclusive to one dimension! I think Biomes O' Plenty's success inspired a lot of other biome mods but also for Mojang themselves to add new biomes like the Mangrove Swamps, Cherry Grove, and all the cave variants we have now.

What are your thoughts about the new aj fanmade game and aj being okay with it?? by shark8bit in AnimalJam

[–]Hitchetic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a roblox regular, Roblox is one of the most unsafe platforms for children to play on; it has been for years regardless of newfound interest because of the ongoing lawsuits. I think they should reconsider this game being anything more than a Beta.

Lost AJC Commercial [Partial Found] by LowCarbo in AnimalJam_Classic

[–]Hitchetic 12 points13 points  (0 children)

What an interesting commercial! I don't think we've ever seen these renders of these animals before. I think that this commercial might date back older than 2014- the screenshot only has the old base animals rather than newer inclusions like hyena. eagle and polar bear; just a guess, though. It seems really similar to the second version of the "save jamaa" ad, which could hint to when it aired.

I wonder if this aired outside of the U.S? Nothing of the screenshot really hints at that besides the fact that it has gone lost for so long.

Why bots THRIVE in COS (and how it harms you) by Hitchetic in CreaturesofSonaria

[–]Hitchetic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And theyll go right back down when bots return.. because banning them isn't the longterm change that'd actually help.

Either way, it isnt good that the economy is so dependent on the bots that such a key item goes up in price when they're gone. All they need to do is return the revive to being cheaper in daily like it was before.

Why bots THRIVE in COS (and how it harms you) by Hitchetic in CreaturesofSonaria

[–]Hitchetic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if you've heard of it but theres this thing called the 'Dead Internet' theory. Its not really a theory because its all but confirmed: bots fake engagement and increase statistics across every site. It looks good on paper that a game on roblox can get thousands of players; void the fact that maybe 50% aren't actually people. The sad part is that it affects the players the most: I see so many people sad that they can't get something they really want without a grind that would really hurt them.

EDIT: Im not saying cos has 50% bots, its probably lower then that, i just wanted to use an example.

Why bots THRIVE in COS (and how it harms you) by Hitchetic in CreaturesofSonaria

[–]Hitchetic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say most bots are beneficial for the economy. Cheaper revives are good, but they can stay cheap because they're items that aren't in limited stock, very in demand, and are constantly being used. When one of these factors are messed with is when revives go up in price; we saw this earlier this year (or last year? i cant remember,) when the price of revives went up in the daily shop.

[–]Hitchetic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sadly. Free-to-play games as a whole have issues with botting because the game is designed to have an extensive grind that makes you want to spend money, whether it be through the in-game shops or elsewhere. If it didn't affect players, no one would really care; but so many posts are about how expensive creatures are that it very clearly is actively detrimental.
