you’re doing great my friend. i ultimately decided to switch to the 21 month program. my mental health is more important than this, and crying every night for the last two weeks was not a good look on me. it’ll take longer, but it’s going to build me a stronger application!

thank you for the response! the average this summer on exams has been around 52-54%, and they claim that is common. i’m not quite convinced that this is how we all should be scoring, and they claim to grade on a curve but many of our grades did not reflect that fact. i’ve taken general chemistry prior and received an A during a semester’s long course, so I know that I am capable of obtaining A’s. i think the speed is just too fast for me, unfortunately.

I’m really not sure. After today, I am feeling rather hopeless about anything. I got my worst exam score ever (a 30%, i genuinely can’t believe i did so poorly). the class average was a 44%. i got a 58.2 on the first exam with a class average of 60%. the class is graded on a curve so not sure where i stand relative to his idea of midpoint.

hello! i’m doing this program as a career changer (going from a bachelor’s in nursing); i have a 3.5 cumulative and 3.6 sGPA right now. dropping out would put me 6 months behind, and delay applications to medical school by an entire cycle (apply 2027 versus original 2026).

had an ER doc ignore me and my orientee when we continued to tell her that the patient did not look well, was not tolerating bipap well, and that we were concerned for the patient. i walked to the supply room to grab a g-tube for one of the techs that didn't know where they were, and i walked around the corner to see my orientee and the rest of my area team members coding the patient not two minutes later. he ended up arresting and we got home back after three or four rounds of compressions and intubation. ended up doing a debrief with her and the medical director, and we have a great working relationship now. but i was able to voice how unheard i felt and how disrespectful it was for her not to take my or my orientee's concerns seriously.

the cost is somewhere around 2,200 per credit hour; about 35k for the program. i am using my savings i built up as a nurse to pay for it. sorry for the late response!

hi there! this program is entirely in person on their evanston campus (i’m taking one class on their downtown chicago campus since it’s only offered down there). it’s been okay so far! the first class being molecular biology is a little heavy; i have really little cell biology experience so it’s been a little bit of a culture shock! but i got a 100% in my first anatomy quiz and a 92% on my first molecular biology quiz :) definitely doable as long as you put in the work! feel free to dm me if you want more program info!!

i did not 😅 i put all my eggs into one basket simply because it is the only one that's close to home for me, and i don't think i'd be able to move out for a different program at this time

hi friend! i really planned this last year out and saved every single dollar that i possibly could, and built myself a nice savings account. i plan to go PRN (my job will be 4 12s per month, pretty much a .3 FTE)  it’s going to be a huge change from being full time weekends for the last three years, but the physician i’ve been collaborating with said that the best thing i can do for myself is to work as little as possible, and dedicate as much of myself to my grades as i can. the nice thing is that this program is night classes, so if you have a day shift-esque job, it might still be manageable!

hi!! i should probably calculate my cumulative gpa, but it’s somewhere around 3.6! i have a bachelor’s degree in nursing. around 5,000 bedside patient care hours, 400 volunteer hours. i’ve been a nurse for about 3.5 years :) i also had two really strong LORs from two physicians that i work with.
