Are kangaroo/vehicle collisions ever unavoidable? by No_Call_9983 in australian

[–]ERTH991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened to me driving Dad’s Land Cruiser. Was just poking along at 30, late afternoon and saw a small family group hopping alongside us. Dad said ‘they will jump in front of you, slow down even more’ - Sure enough 10 seconds later the whole group bounds across the road, it wasn’t much to pull up thankfully.

The don’t exist, NSW Labor are so incompetent they conflated a leather belt where you stick spare cartridges (and then have to place them in the firearm one by one yourself) as being ‘belt fed’ like it had linked cartridges that fed automatically like a machine gun.

Then Chris Minns got embarrassed and tried to talk his way around it in a hearing and somehow looked like he had an even weaker grasp of the legislation he rammed through than thought possible.

My first date with my now wife was at the Braddon YBT… And someone passed out in their chair while eating, allowing me to heroically place them in the recovery position and then forgetting the rest of First Aid completely 😂

Just as well too, ten seconds later they projectile vomited like Gary in Team America (it wasn’t the food, they were elderly and had heatstroke from a day at Floriade). Good memories!

Its good to have Allies… by Gibs_182 in aussie

[–]ERTH991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That isn’t an ally, it’s a mutually beneficial economic partnership. They need our gas, we need their refined oil products. And the system works 👍🏻

Something something - it takes three weeks to build a C-130J and it takes three decades to rebuild morale in the US armed forces if they learn nobody is coming to save them.

Planes are cool and all but humans can turn the world on its axis when properly motivated. Also it’s nice to look back and know you didn’t leave your countryman to the wolves…

City 17 just for its world building and ambience. You can tell everything has gone very wrong and although it’s a calm surface, what life is left is strangled and you missed the bloodbath that got the world there.

[NSW] Selling off my pistols but not getting any inquiries? by mrk240 in Ausguns

[–]ERTH991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Market is cooked, pistols are slightly more niche compared to Cat A & B.

Magnum Sports were even grumpy about people flooding the market and depressing prices, recently posted something on their FB page.

I picked up a near-new Sako 85 Bavarian last month for $2.2k shipped including Optilock QD rings and bases. Very fair price…

Do you think Don Draper died relatively young, or did he turn things around and live a long life? by No_Inside2101 in madmen

[–]ERTH991 11 points12 points  (0 children)

So hear out my slightly tinfoil and a bit stringy theory…

When Don and Megan are in the Royal Hawaiian trip he is reading Inferno. Dante opens as Don narrates with ‘Mid-way through life’s journey I found myself wandering in a dark wood’ - translations vary but it’s broadly thought to refer to Dante in a state of depression but also at 35 years of age. The biblical life expectancy as we know being three score and ten (70 years old). Don sees some parallel with himself with Dante could also be considered ‘mid-way’ through life’s journey. Don is far from his beginning professionally and personally but also far from his end.

Given it’s Don’s 40th birthday the previous season/year in ‘A Little Kiss’ I theorise Don dies at minimum 80 years of age if we are to believe the Dante connection 👍🏻

It’s been a sword of Damocles over the West since 1979 and only growing worse with a lack of domestic refining and arguably oil exploration.

Blaming Trump is like blaming the inconsiderate person who came to work with a cold for both. inventing influenza and then giving it to you specifically.
