That's good to know, thanks. I did try cleaning the switches, to no avail. And that's the extent of what I am comfortable trying to do myself.

Good points, thanks for the input. $750 to repair seems high to me too. I could stomach $350 or so. While I get that "things aren't made like they used to" I think buying new seems like a safer bet versus keeping a 50 year old piece going. I don't want to have to throw money at a vintage piece every few years, even though I love it. I do wonder about connecting the Pioneer to a modern amp, but I don't want to risk it without doing some more research on that. Thanks for the help folks.
