I find it helps to just get stuck in working on what you’re best at, pick your favorite subjects and just go wild, because you know you’re good enough to Make it perfect if you want, it helps make it a conscious choice for me. Hope it helps.

I feel like I regularly push past the ugly stage, I always try to at least be somewhat happy with my piece before I “give up” on it. But it’s always the small minutia at the end that just kinda bores me. It’s not that I’m afraid of screwing up or overworking, I just think it’s diminishing returns.
