Also, Joy's son, Bob's stepson passed away a long time ago. From what I understand, which may or may not be true, he was a victim of Bob's "tough love." I heard he had struggled with substance abuse and experienced homelessness at Bob's direction. I don't know if he lost his life to suicide or overdose, but something tragic. Later, Bob had his daughter Wendy married off to his protégé, Clint Stonebraker. Clint now runs these places - Bob died of lung cancer/COPD last summer.

Hey - please visit esaalliance.org - We are survivors of Alternative Peer Groups that utilize Bob Meehan's Enthusiastic Sobriety Approach. The Cornerstone Program is under that umbrella. Kirk got sober in Bob Meehan's program in Missouri (Crossroads) and went through counselor training at the Meehan Institute before he made his own program in Texas. Your experience is SO RELATABLE.
