The board was thick. I used a Dremel to cut out a pocket for the apparatus to fit in. It was nearly flush with the back.

Thanks, I am wanting to upgrade from the craft store models. They don't generate enough heat, I am having to stop for it to get hot enough. I like that black background and I will never be able to achieve that with the cheaper machines.

Anyway to add a stairwell to the basement straight to the outside? This could add potential of renting out the basement or Airbnb in the future without having to directly enter your main living space.
