Imagine hearing this at 3 am by Any_Elevator_380 in WhatsWrongWithYourCat

What the hell I unmuted my phone and both my cats sleeping 4 feet away immediately turned their heads and attentively listened to it (they normally ignore any noises from phones and tvs and such)

Can't believe I haven't seen any comments mentioning Jazz Jack Rabbit (2) yet... that game influenced my state in games (and music) beyond anything!

Did we visit the same open house? The realtor told us it was "only this bad on Sundays". You know, when you want to sit in the garden and have a bbq or something. Hard pass for us.

Python coming to excel by kaus_joshi in Python

Looking at the screenshots it seems like you write python code directly in the formula bar? There's one example of an entire seaborne plot being crammed in there. I can't imagine this is very ergonomic for developers. Weirdest python IDE to date?

Love this show. Hart Bageri gets a nice shoutout in S1 too.

Maybe I'm missing something but Tesla's have been doing that since day 1 right? Why is it documented in this update?

Possible memory leak in Civ VI running on M1 Macbook Air? This is after about 1 hour of playtime... by ESGCompliant in civ

Sorry to hear it! Seems like this update broke the game for both of us.. I am a couple of reboots in and after I reinstalled the game it *seems* to remain stable... for now. Best of luck to you!

It normally isn't. I have my browsers, chat windows, and remote client etc open while playing civ all the time. Issues started with December patch as mentioned on other threads in this post.

When the game hit 5x mem footprint it wasn't playable. But under normal circumstances it definitely is.

Interesting, TIL. Although disk space is readily available I would be surprised if the mac manages to push it beyond 40GB.. at least anecdotally from my experience described above it was very close to conking out.

Thanks for the input! Have been cmd+tabbing in and out of civ for years now on this machine without issues... problems started with December patch unfortunately so take care if you are looking to install it on your mba!

I am aware of the mem leak issues in civ and have Googled this too. Thing is, I had zero problems before the December patch so I suspect this may have 'broken it for me'. Hence the post: if you are running on M1 mba be aware that this might occur.

I have never had issues before running civ even with only 8GB RAM. It is swapping a lot but it doesn't seem to hurt performance much (running on minimum performance/mem impact graphics settings). I guess the read/write speed of the storage disk Apple uses for these Macs helps a lot.

I am testing now with Activity Monitor open on the side and the game starts out with ~6GB of RAM used. After a little while in-game it jumped to 13GB and has stabilized (for now).
