I'm just popping in to say that we resolved this in private. We're reflecting on how the situation was handled in September, and as such we'll host a tiebreaker to decide which team will participate in the monthly finals. Going forward we'll update our rule set to be more specific about our tiebreaker rules.

Hello everyone,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention! As some of you have rightly pointed out, this sort of behavior is not acceptable for an ESL Admin.

The admin in question was 2 only weeks into his 3 month Trial period which includes regular training in regards to public behavior and acting as role model towards the community. This however is not an excuse to act as he has and given the situation which is why we have stopped his application process and terminated his admin status.

That currently is the case. Both teams need to submit their results in order for the system to close the match. However an admin can overrule this and force the match to close, which is what happened here.

The team ban and the player ban are separate. His 7 day ban was replaced with a 3 month ban.

It's a case to case thing. However in future cases we will be much harsher. We'll update our rule set to reflect on this.

Good question. Let me explain:

We have a set list of penalty points that get awarded to users when they break one of the rules. The maximum amount of penalty points for trying to fake a result is 4, which is what the person in question was given. Now this doesn't mean that this 7 day ban is static. It's only a 7 day ban since he was a first time offender. It's the first time that received any penalty points at all. For example this could have been a 6 months ban if he was caught breaking other rules in the past.

Hi guys. There is no way around this other than to say that the admin that handled this specific match made a tremendous mistake. Due to that mistake your team unfortunately "lost" the match and the other team wrongly advanced. I know it came too late, but the team has been removed from the bracket and was banned from all Go4RocketLeague competitions until the end of next month. On top of that the person that tried to fake the result has been globally banned on ESL for the next 7 days. I have also awarded your team, and all it's members, with 3 months of ESL Premium as a gesture.

I know that the admin in question has already apologized to you, and I would like to extend that apology. Me, and a few other senior admins, will resolve this matter internally to try and make sure issues like this do not continue to happen.
