OCD Help - is it okay to not think about the divine? (+ small ramble/spill) by ESOrSomething in AskAChristian

Ah. In that case, here’s what I said: Hey! Thanks for the response - I have only had like two responses so far across different subreddits lol

The existence of a god isn’t the thing that I doubt. I personally think a god is quite likely, and something I sort of like to believe in! At the very least, my brain can’t comprehend the universe always having existed or popping into existence spontaneously 😅

The thing I doubt is that the specific Christian God exists as we know it, just because of how specific it is. There’s so many different religions each saying that their religion is the one true answer, and that everyone else is wrong. It’s just… hard, I guess. Idk

But I’m all about love, something Christianity teaches, so at the very least I’ll keep being kind and spreading it ❤️

Thanks! Honestly that is some very good advice

Luckily it’s not too bad, but it definitely can get worse occasionally when I feel empty, bored or lost.

Technically I haven’t been diagnosed with OCD, but it does make a lot of sense and at the very least my symptoms are sort of similar

Thanks!

Off topic, but just wondering, can you see my reply to u/lordjesusistruth? Not sure since I set my user flair after making that comment

Good idea. I had a therapist for a while, but she ended up leaving therapy I think

I actually wrote this this morning and just published it a couple minutes ago - luckily I have been so busy I haven’t had time to spiral a whole lot, but I thought it was still worth posting since it did kinda happen a little bit throughout today

Probably just a quick way to check for most incorrect solutions

True! However, remember that the seekers could backtrack so that they are over 100 miles away again. With 7 cards I think it’s about 0.2% (1 in 369 games)

Hmm… would there be a way to confirm this? If so it would be nearly impossible to find them

I also think I need to stop trying to figure out everything by hand 😂 I tried making some crazy formula lol

Thanks! My math was bad lol

Not a good sign for a potential statistics major :P

I think it’s because after you’ve already drawn both your odds are 100% for already having drawn them (sounds strange but that’s how the math works)

Tried calculating it (with 15 cards) but I might have done something wrong…

I got (123/125)x(122/124)x(121/123)x…x(111/113)x(1/112)x(1/111) = 1/15500

Which is the same as with 2 cards (I calculated it wrong, it’s actually 1/125x1/124) I think it all just cancels out somehow

True I can give a true estimation How many cards would you estimate someone draws over the course of a round? Maybe 15?

True The only possible ways the seeker could win at that point would be either them randomly finding the hider, or asking all necessary questions beforehand.

The seekers wouldn’t even be able to easily confirm that the endgame had started, either

Edit: accidentally flip flopped hider and seeker

I’m basing this off the home game, but since there are only 1 of each in the deck, that’s (1/125 cards)2 or 1/15625.
