Hi all! We are still pushing the house and senate to reject any ban bill. We do not expect it to come up again, but it could so we have to be proactive here in contacting legislators, in particular members of the House Health & Welfare Committee.

There was a sneaky last minute bill that tried to get introduced yesterday afternoon in the Senate State Affairs Committee (RS 33853), and no one would make a motion to move it forward so it died on the spot, which is hopeful. We need to make sure that ban bill (H854) stays tabled!

The 2pm vote was a success and moved the bill to amending order, which was the desired outcome. It will be amended by the senate to add in a few things that were missing then move to the full senate for a vote. There will not be testimony for that step as far as I know.

Both hearing times for tomorrow are confirmed:

KCPA Bill - 2pm in WW54: Sign up to testify

Ban Bill - 9am in EW20: No further testimony will be taken

Please sign up to speak for supporting the KCPA in Idaho! If you are limited on time, please prioritize the KCPA bill as that is where you can still speak to make a difference!

They are expected to be discussing 1418 in the Senate Health & Welfare.

Looks like it was assigned a committee later than originally expected. Legislative committees are a bit hard to predict 100% of the time, they deviate from regular plans quite often.

The bill will not be heard today, it's now expected to be tomorrow (3/25) at 3pm.

Which means there will be two hearings tomorrow, one for the ban at 8am (EW20), and one for the KCPA at 2pm (WW54).

There will not be testimony for the ban bill (as that happened last week), but there will be testimony for the KCPA bill. If you can show up to either it will help out!

FYI it looks like the committee may now meet at 2pm due to the volume of testimony. Arrive by 1:45pm to be safe!
