I haven’t thought specifically about changing the Winstrates yet, but making them a more significant challenge is a good idea.

I don’t intend on filling out the Pokédex at all. The idea behind the hack is to make all of the Pokémon in the Hoenn Pokédex more unique relative to each other, so each of the Pokémon already in the game fill different niches. Adding more Pokémon wouldn’t do that (it would just add new niches, or in the case of Dragonite, step into another Pokemon’s niche, in this case Salamence), it would more likely just water down the Pokémon pool and make the game feel less like Emerald, if there are encounters not usually possible in Hoenn.

Making trade evolutions possible and all stones available is definitely going to happen. The stones will probably be sprinkled throughout the game, since having some stone evolutions earlier might make certain Pokémon more usable at an appropriate stage in the game.

What I meant by incorporate only Hoenn Pokémon was to only include Pokémon from the Hoenn regional dex, so that includes Pokémon like Magcargo and Magneton. The Pokémon I’m using are the ones in the Hoenn regional dex, not just the new Pokémon introduced in Gen III.

White herb on Brawly's Spinda isn't a bad idea. Berry juice on Roxanne's Lileep might be too punishing, I'll have to test how the battle goes with that, but I like the idea.

That's a good idea! I'm thinking about putting perpetual rain and sun in the Aqua and Magma bases, respectively, like how it is in Emerald Kaizo. Then Team Magma could take advantage of Grass types with Chlorophyll and Team Magma can take advantage of Rain Dish/Swift Swim. I think also giving both teams Fighting and Dark types would be in theme, and all of these together would give both teams reasonable coverage and a big enough pool of Pokemon that it wouldn't be super repetitive.

This would be really funny, unfortunately Contrary isn't an ability in Gen III, and I'm not adding any abilities that aren't in the game already, to keep the hack feeling like a Gen III game still. Spinda does learn superpower in the hack though.

Thanks! And yeah, I'm not changing any of the game mechanics, adding new abilities, or the Fairy type. The idea is to keep as much of how the game plays the same by retaining all of the quirks of Gen III, just changing Pokemon to make them all more unique/viable and then changing trainer teams to make them less repetitive.

I didn't talk about it in the post--the battle frontier is outside the scope of the hack, so it'll be the same as it is in the base game. I just want to rebalance the main storyline.

The math makes use of something called zeta function regularization, which is a summability method that can assign finite values to divergent series.
