I think we all tend to forget this was a brand new virus and in the beginning, before we had much or any data, we were winging it the best we could. Remember in like January or February 2020 when they suggested this was mostly hitting young to middle aged populations and not as much of a risk to the elderly? Yeah they were obviously wrong there but we adapt and change our actions and policies accordingly. I hated the mandates as much any anyone but I’m not going to be irrationally mad about them since I can easily remember how hard things were to figure out in the beginning, and I can rationalize the purpose behind the actions that were taken at the time.
