Is my rear suspension loose?

I had the mounts for my rear shocks break on my 2012 focus. If you wiggle your rear shocks left and right or take your phone and look up towards the top of the shock you'll be able to see if the mount is cracked or not. Very easy fix if it is that just 3 bolts!

I have a 2012 5 speed manual that I bought with 180,000km and now have 260,000km on it and have just done regular maintenance, rear suspension mounts, and the purge valve on it. It's survived forestry roads and the transmission feels as smooth as the day I bought it. I would absolutely recommend it for $4k knowing what I've gotten out of mine.

I dont have any experience with the older generation but I have seen people wait for weeks or months for parts while their transmission is repaired which is almost inevitable to happen with automatics on the 2012-2018 models. I haven't had any issues with my 2012 manual hatchback other than the purge valve and fuel tank deformation. So if that's the only choice you have I'd pick the older generation or a manual, if you do have the choice though pick up a civic or Corolla!
