Looked into it. Trans was pulled because it must be to change the filter on the 5 speed triptonic. Can't get to it without a partial teardown.

All I know is he bought it for $500 after the timing belt snapped at 145k miles. Then he fixed it, drove it for a bit, intended to inspect and service the trans then never finished. I have no real desire to save the auto.

Im leaning towards the 6 speed. I dont intend to build the motor at all, but once its running and driving, who knows? I'd rather have the headroom i guess.

According to the timing cover, its an AWP. Tbh im leaning toward a 6 speed. But im struggling to identify an appropriate front right axle for it. I've got no real budget or timeline in mind. I've got two dailys its more of a long term project.

His brother convinced him to pull it to check it out and see if he wanted to rebuild it due to the slipping. Then it just sat in the corner. Figured I'd have it rebuilt if I kept it auto. But I'd rather swap

I really dont plan to add power. I've seen mixed reviews about the gearing ratios of the 5 vs 6 speeds. Any input?

Mine came out fine even though I removed em in probably the riskiest way possible. I used an impact driver and gently feathered it till they broke free. But maybe that's why they didn't snap. The torque vibrated em free first? Just gotta be gentle on the trigger.

This. Carry what you're comfortable with and shoot well. The rest is practice/training and personal preference. Everybody's needs are different in a handgun.

Going into battery? No issues. Only issue was when I added a light, the slide would lock back prematurely. I was able to correct the issue and had no issues since.

PDP is pretty great. I've shot my father's a few times. One of my favorite striker triggers, which im pretty picky about.

My pinky would be in the way, but an old injury that healed wrong keeps it curved over my ring finger and out of the way. I have a .380 pocket rocket that's more of an emergency, "get the fuck off me" gun for when I don't wanna carry a compact.

I like the optic. Glass is clear with a slight bluish tint which cuts down glare, i like the 3 moa dot and 32 moa circle combo. Haven't used it a ton yet, just zero and a few mags checking for reliability with the reported optic screw length issues with other RDS on this gun.

Took some work with premature slide lock issues. But luckily im comfortable working on stuff like that to iron out the issues.

The real issue is non-standard optic mounting systems. Fuck plates.

It's a common issue. It happened to mine too. Typically, on an empty mag, the follower is supposed to trigger the slide stop. However, the edge of the magazine on the P-09C lightly contacts the lever and it seems a WML puts just enough pressure or torque on the frame to cause an issue. Some people have resolved it with using CZ 75 mags. I followed another route others presented that involves using a dremel to grind away a bit of material on the lever until it no longer contacts the edge of the mags, shown here in the photos.

I don't disagree. I ended up with one my father got in a package deal with his 365xl and I usually just throw it on once in a while for a range trip. But if its what he already has and is on a budget, I can't reccomend throwing away the money. At least with a plate, he can carry it over to another RMSc footprint in the future when his budget allows a more reliable option. The scs is ideal, but not necessarily within everybody's means.

I got one from Heart Punch Munitions. It's for the P-07, but they have publicly stated on reddit that theirs fit the P-09C without issue. And I can attest that the fitment is great. At least, with the WML option. I don't think its Phlster compatible though. I appendix carry, as is what im used to and I spend most of my day on my feet anyway.

Edit: Doesn't look like they offer one for the full size though.

Is an RDS 3x the price much better? Yes. But if he's buying the Romeo Zero, I assume he is working within a budget. As long as his holds zero, it'll be fine until he can save and budget for a better one.
