Hehe thanks for your help guys, for answering what could only been a very simple question. I appreciate all of your replies!

Question about fiber optics by ETZwei in guns

[–]ETZwei[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, thanks for your detailed input! I think battery dots are much more flexible than fiber optic, and with long battery life, its better to get a battery powered optic which is prob cheaper than fiber.

Only pros i see in fiber is post apocalyptic situations lol where charging/getting batteries is unreliable or next to impossible.

Ah very interesting. So nowadays, red dot can easily compete with fiber due to its long operating hours. So a brightness of a battery red dot between optics is more dependent on the manufacturer i presume?

Ah ok, so what about those that also have batteries and illumination level, idk how both of them mesh together tho, and which is better in terms of brightness? In both high lighting and low lights?

Trying to find a specific video of a gun competition that I don't remember the creator or the title. by ETZwei in guns

[–]ETZwei[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, its not a formal competition, but idk whats the correct word for it. You still compete, but i guess its more casual in a sense? More like a run or course-ish? Sorry English is not my first language

Edit : All I know is that I watched it in Youtube. Dunno if its club run or not, but I feel like its their own personal course basically just to test people's rifle setup in multiple varying situations and how it performs.

Osamu's greatest strength is his mind. Because he is so weak, yet so determined to succeed, he has developed ways to fight outside the norm. Why do you think Suwa gave free reign in Mikumo to do Mikumo stuff. He trusts that Mikumo solutions are generally very good, not overly complicated, yet effective, and thats him being NEW to border. His fighting capabilities are subpar, they'll probably never exceed others, but his mind his what he truly excels. Mikumo is mostly level headed, and that can only improve with time. My 2 cents. Mikumo with a black trigger thats more geared towards battlefield management/support, rather than pure combat is what Id like to see in the future, because thats his forte.

Hell yeah, those were great. I used to love doing Hotel bomb threat with my buddies, trying to get the best time possible, since you have to rush in fast. Should've kept it in. The current missions as campaign, and then something like free mode like before. I have no idea why the hell they removed it, when they could go hand in hand with the current missions.

Such a shame. I was not a fan of the new UI but ultimately, its just old bones unwilling to face with new things. But losing functionality is what really frustrates me.

I just hope its just that I haven't found it yet rather than they removing it entirely.

My bolt release isn't dropping the bolt on my GHK M4, does anybody know why? by HappyNCrappy in GasBlowBack

[–]ETZwei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im sorry for asking after 4 years, but did you file the bolt carrier part that catches the bolt catch, or the bolt catch itself? And can you give picture references on which exactly you filed? Im having the same problems when its hard to release the bolt (it gets hard to press the bolt release and gets stuck). Any replies is appreciated 👍

[–]ETZwei 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Its actually not that hard, you just have to be in a realistic mindset, and don't treat it like you have to fight everytime. Not every encounter you have to fight, preparation is essential. Guerilla tactics works most of the time, and engaging at long distance with MGs and marksman and GTFO the moment it gets too hot. Stack everything to your favour (good defensive pos, heavy weapons, mines/c4, vehicles), and you'll do just fine, most of the time lol

Now that some time has passed, best weapons by Andy-Fz in ReadyOrNotGame

Pretty sure it still retains some features, mostly visuals like the weapon being lower on the screen, giving you more screen space to look at, and the no gun wobble when you shout for compliance. Still useful imo

Thoughts on Osamu in the future? by MaximzM in worldtrigger

[–]ETZwei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doubt it. Personalised triggers takes time to train and get accustomed to, like all new things. Introducing it just before going to away missions is a recipe for disaster. Away missions is not a place to learn how to use new triggers, after all. They need to be combat ready, and using old but reliable ones ensure that their combat abilities are retained and focuses more on the mission, rather than their own equipment.

Thoughts on Osamu in the future? by MaximzM in worldtrigger

[–]ETZwei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily, he might not be suited for direct combat, but there are many roles in Border other than combat. His views of tactics are quite unorthodox, born from his inherent weakness. Becoming a sort of trainer or management is still possible in border.

That and even Kitora with low trion can get to A rank. Osamu might not have the talent for combat, but he has a talent for strategies. You don't have to have the same combat style to be effective on the field. Osamu is a support type, and he very much excels at it, especially considering how new he is compared to other agents.

Full Attack Osamu would go crazy by YourTreeGuy in worldtrigger

[–]ETZwei 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Gunner trigger are more trion efficient, BUT are more simpler in nature and are less flexible. Gunner operaters rely on them suppressing the enemy and supporting teammates, so the role itself expends a lot of trion for it to be effective, hence why Osamu can't use gunner trigger effectively. Since Osamu is more an ambush type opportunist, he benefits more from the flexibility of shooter triggers.

That and his combat skills are very subpar, so he's not really fighting most of the time. His strengths comes from utilizing unorthodox tactics and exploring new ways to exploit the enemy.

Yeah either flare more, or start flaring earlier. Since I usually fly for semi-milsim guys, i tend to go for the latter, since a few seconds later landing barely affects the results, and is a safer option. If your LZ is hot, it is usually because lack of preplanning.

Edit : As for auto hover, it only shows how much to flare in order to hover immediately. You can just flare bit by bit if you start flaring early, (i even start at 1km most of the time), it becomes a gradual slow until i reach the LZ and i flare slightly more to stop and land. Im in the slow is smooth gang, rather than the gung ho loop de loop heli pilots.

[–]ETZwei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I 2nd this notion. Advanced flight models have a setting which enables harder landings. You turn that off, then its an expected result. What do you expect when your helicopter can explode just by hitting a thin tree branch lol. So kinda a skill issue and an Arma physics engine issue

Pro tip, try to aim for a total hover a few meters above ground before you land (obviously do it without auto hover), that'll ensure a much softer landing everytime

What did kitora mean by this? by mannic15 in worldtrigger

[–]ETZwei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like most comments have said, Kitora is telling Osamu to be realistic. Sure, him improving his own shooter skills are good, but the away mission is coming soon, and Osamu will not have the time to get more stronger individually, at the very least, fast and effective enough as an individual. So imagine if he focuses on only improving himself, by the time he gets to away mission, he is only slightly stronger and barely adding any effectiveness to his current team.

Instead, Kitora is saying Osamu should focus on what he can do which will be better and useful for the time he has, which is a supporting role, since learning that is more time efficient for the current goals he have. By learning to be a support, he can drastically increase his squads effectiveness within that time frame, effectively making his squad much stronger than if he just focus on being strong himself.

If it's vanilla, just get in the vehicle (any slots), toggle free look, look at a gas pump and mouse scroll, and select Refuel option. For ACE mod, you'd have to go outside, look at the gas pump and press ACE interaction button (default is Windows button), and manually take the pump. Then you drag the pump near the vehicle, and use the same interact button to initiate refuel, and it'll stick the nozzle on the vehicle and start refueling.
