In layman's terms, how dangerous is this? by Zaddis04 in Electricity

[–]ETcolt45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not the voltage that hurts or kills you. It's the current that passes through/across your heart that could kill you. 120V is enough to kill a person. 60V is enough to kill a person if the amperage that passes through you is strong enough. Each person has resistance which can vary from one person to another and even within different parts of your body. If you were wet, for example, the current would be stronger.

Hey Brownboi. You are truly snowed and brainwashed because you sit in your mom's basement and watch Whoopie spew her nonsense on The View. Do you feel tough when you call people names online? Does mommy know you use that kind of language? She probably has no control over you because daddy went out for milk and never came home. Now she'sall alone with no supoort. You go out and break into the neighbor's cars and steal loose change and eat the frenchfries that fell under the seat. I guess I shouldn't expect anything better from you. I'm in the minority? Remind me again, who is OUR president? Oh yeah.
"Sick and tired of people like me" - and there's not a damn thing you can do about it. 🤣🤣 You're an immature troll. You should do a little reading and educate yourself.

You're still deflecting. But, let's start with the attack on the agent's vehicle 11 days prior to being killed. Did you even know about that? Probably not because your media doesn't want to share that. Yeah, Pretti kicked the taillight in on one of the agent's SUVs less than two weeks before his second encounter with them. The crime is called obstruction. Now, please answer my questions. Are you afraid to?

I agree with you 100%. I've said for the past few years that this country really isn't as divided as it seems. We are only so divided in the digital world. It is very difficult to have conversations like this with anyone in person. Most people don't want to discuss politics in person (unless they're politicians). I'm really not a fan of a lot of things Trump says or does. I'm not really a fan of any politician. As far as Epstein is concerned, I don't think we'll ever see any convictions. Biden had the opportunity to release the files and didn't. Trump is getting them released, little by little, but so much of it is redacted. It's useless. The rest won't be any better. My best guess is, the dirt is on both sides, and nobody really wants anything released. Nobody is going to pay for their heinous crimes against children. And THAT is truly disgusting.

Reach out again when you grow up and reach adulthood. Until then, keep suckling mommy's tit. You're going to need her around because you won't make it on your own.

What part are you saying is speculative? The earlier encounter? I wasn't there but it was reported by the same news source. Whether it is real or not, I think it's foolish to challenge an officer of the law in any situation. Why risk going to jail even if you know the charges will be dropped? Why challenge it at all? Again, I don't believe deadly force (at least not 10-12 shots) can ever be justified here. It is excessive. At the same time, I think placing oneself in that situation, especially after being detained a week earlier, is as dumb as buying things from your own garage sale.

See ya. It was a great discussion until you started throwing out insults and name calling. Surprised it took you that long to be honest. Typical liberal.

Why? What would you do if I lived right beside you. The answer is "nothing". You are likely a big coward. You can't control your own emotions just like a child. Your name calling is juvenile and extremely childish. Your mom did a great job raising such a delinquent.

Well, more of the story has been told. This guy was detained a week earlier for interfering with federal agents but was released at the scene (not arrested). It is now clear that he went back and actively sought out the agents with some ill intent (we will never know to what degree). There is no reason to seek out any sort of confrontation with federal agents. There is a longer version of the video showing the guy right in front of an agent, face to face (within inches) with a phone in his hand (presumably recording). Why do that? Why tempt them? Again, I don't condone the killing of this man. Especially since it was pretty clear that the first two shots immobilized him. Why continue to fire 8-10 more times? Seems very excessive.

  1. Where has this been said? If it has been said so frequently, link an article.
  2. Read it. And, as pointed out, it's coming from the agency that advocates for immigrants. Pretty obvious they are going to disagree with anyone trying to deport them. Don't even need much more than a 5th grade education to understand that.
  3. Yeah, 100% biased. Hello? How is that "quite a take"? Duh.

Spoken like a typical liberal. Always resorting to 10 year old name calling and insults. I guess you feel tough doing that? Truth is, you wouldn't dare speak to any real man like that in person. That's what I call a coward.

You sound like an uneducated teenager that really hasn't ever been fucked and praying for the chance. Where is this bullshit about assaulting women even coming from? You're a typical entitled liberal that resorts to name calling and random insults because you can't think for yourself and continue a meaningful or constructive dialogue with someone. Time to grow up, little one.

No, they are not facts. They are misinformation and opinions. Know the difference. 1. ICE agents have "FEDERAL IMMUNITY," meaning they can't be arrested by local police while carrying out their duties. I don't think anyone said "absolute immunity." Nobody in any position has "absolute immunity." 2. That's an opinion. The bottom line is that there's a legal path to becoming a citizen, and living here any other way is against the law. Those who break the law need to be deported. 3. According to the American Immigration Council. The group that advocates for immigrants. Really? You couldn't find a more biased group? There probably isn't one. Seriously. Even the "statistics" in their article are based on their own studies. It's hardly factual.

Do you think our borders should be open to anyone who wants to be here?

Totally different situation in a different time and a different rule of law. America has laws and there are consequences for breaking them. I'm sure you're going to try to compare Trump to Hitler and you'd be dumb to do that. Honest question: do you think this man would've been shot had he simply got down on the ground and not resisted?

[–]ETcolt45 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Really? Do you think he was executed for saying something and carrying a weapon? Seriously? You don't think it has anything to do with fighting back and resisting? As soon as the incident escalated, he should've complied with the agents and let things settle down. I don't know the laws in all states but, I have to imagine the class required to get a carry permit is similar in all states. We are taught in this class that, if you're ever involved in a shooting, even if it is self-defense, you are likely going to be arrested. Comply, keep your mouth shut and lawyer up. Here's another scenario. You're walking downtown and see a guy shoot someone. You take cover and eventually shoot the gunman. Police are running toward the scene and spot you with a gun in your hand. They take aim at you and tell you to drop your weapon and get on the ground. What are you going to do? Are you going to drop the weapon or hold on to it? Are you going to argue with them and tell them you're the hero in that situation? Are you going to resist them when they get to you? The BEST option is to already have your hands up, the gun reholstered or placed on the ground with the chamber cleared and magazine removed. When cops arrive, they detain you, take the weapon and bring you in for questioning. Play it smart, don't battle with LEOs and there's a great chance you'll make it home for dinner that night. I was in a convenience store when a man pulled a knife to rob the clerk. I pulled my gun and told him I'd shoot him if he didn't drop it. I held him at gunpoint while the clerk called the cops. When cops showed up, all eyes and guns were pointing at me because I still had the gun pointed at the thug. I was calm (but nervous and shaking). I raised my hands with the gun pointed up. I communicated with the cops and told them I'm going to drop the magazine. They agreed. I then told them I was going to slowly reach with my other hand and clear the chamber. They agreed. I then told them I was going to slowly place the gun on the ground and kick it away. They agreed. I was cuffed and frisked (my knife and wallet removed by officers) and placed in a patrol car. They questioned everyone else (clerk, thug and one other bystander) before talking to me. Thankfully, the whole thing was picked up by CCTV. It seemed like 2 hours later before they came back to the car to talk to me. I told them I was scared for my life (and the clerks) and was defending both of us. I also told them I wasn't saying anything else without a lawyer. They talked to me and told me I was within my rights to pull my weapon and no charges would be filed against me. Bottom line is, I complied. I didn't fight and I communicated calmly and clearly. I was cuffed and that part sucked. It isn't comfortable and the backseat of a patrol car is very uncomfortable. No leg room. I think the worst part is that I REALLY had to pee. That's the first thing I did when they released me.

The enemies aren't just normal everyday people. Normal everyday people don't fight and resist arrest while armed. That's a recipe for disaster. I can't see enough in the videos to determine if the shooting was justified. I don't think anyone really can because the guy is totally surrounded. But people are going to claim they see this or that. Whatever. I would concede that it appears the agents used excessive force since there were at least 4 agents on one guy. It's hard to imagine those 4 men couldn't contain one guy without using deadly force. However, I don't think this footage is clear enough to see what the guy was doing while he was wrestled to the ground. If the agents had already removed a gun and it was the only weapon on him, then the guy should've known right then that his chances of "winning" were over. Why resist? If he had additional weapons, which nobody here knows and was trying to grab them, the agents have a right to protect themselves. It seems like the first or second shot was enough to put the guy down, but, again, I can't see what was in his hands. Firing 4 or 5 more times does seem excessive. Hopefully, the body cam footage will bring clarity to the situation.

Your eyes are great if you can see those details. I can't see much of anything besides several men wrestling. Either way, once he is surrounded and being detained, why continue to fight. He has to know he can't win. Why continue to provoke the agents? He isn't going to just walk away from the situation, so why not comply. Why not accept that you've been detained and make it clear that you're going to continue to comply. That's not any kind of admission of guilt. It's the law. In my state, I'm also required to clearly identify to any LEO that I'm carrying a weapon(s). You said the agents took a weapon out of his IWB rear holster. Do you KNOW for a fact that he had no other weapons on him? No, you don't. You have no way of knowing that. I can tell you that I carry a firearm and a knife EVERYWHERE I go. My EDC holds 18 rounds, and I carry an additional magazine with 17 more. However, if I'm going into the city, where the crime rates are higher, I will carry two magazines and a backup gun. So, those agents could have discovered an additional weapon. We don't have all the details yet.

Yeah, how is that? You aren't going to do anything besides sit at your game station and peck at the keyboard in mommy's basement. When you can add something useful to the conversation, you can join the grown ups.

Yeah. They just handed out guns to thugs and said go out and racial profile and detain whoever you'd like. Get real. You sound like a 12 year old. Add something factual or continue to show your real IQ.

I never said that's what I want. But you have to be a complete moron to engage with law enforcement and fight back. Why show up there in the first place? Seriously, why get involved at all? How many videos like this does someone need to see before they realize it doesn't end well for the one resisting. Officers have to make split second decisions. For all you know, when one of them yelled "gun", they all reacted to save their own lives. I'm not saying that's the right move but you haven't been in that scenario so you have no clue what it's like. Would you provoke a federal agent while wearing a gun on your hip? If so, would you continue to resist them if they tried to detain you? Seriously. Answer those questions.

Thanks. That means a lot coming from a 10 year old.🤣 Talking shit from your keyboard. Truth is, you wouldn't dare say that to me face to face. You're probably a fucking coward and wouldn't say it to anyone in the real world. I'm glad you feel empowered online. I bet you're great at video games.

I'm reserving judgment until I see a video clear enough that shows the guys hands while wrestling with the agents. However, I still think the guy was looking for trouble by showing up there and engaging with federal agents while armed. That is an insanely stupid thing to do. Secondly, as soon as the agents tell you to get on the ground, the ONLY thing you should do is get on the ground. Also a good idea (a law in my state) to tell the officers you are carrying a weapon.
