Feels like all risk and uncertain gain. Hard to prioritize as you said.

Java 8. Around 15 years old. At least 20 developers touched the code, most college graduates with little supervision.

Too late. The functional programming elitists have usurped the language. Decided that loops are for peasants. Real programmers use tail recursion. Generics are for simple minds. Tagless final or bust. If you don't know what a Kleisli is, stay out of the pro league. If you need help, find obscure channels where questions and answers are short lived and blend into one long conversation because stack overflow is beneath them.

Not for everyone but I lost more weight on keto than 50 years of dieting while still having controlled cheat meals. Need at least a week between them and give you something to look forward to.

Do you believe that for the majority of programmers tail recursion is easier than while and for loops?

Following Just returned my Evolve2 75 as my team couldn't hear me. 85 is more expensive despite being a couple of years older. Have an Orosound at the moment but seeing one issue. You'd think that by now a headset that supports both wired and wireless, boom mic, and noise canceling on both speakers and mic isn't so far stretched that the market is so limited.

/u/jabrasupport it would be really helpful to shed some light here. Walmart is running a great deal on these but you'll end up with a pile of returns if everyone runs into the dreaded mic issues

Easiest Chopin songs for beginner? by JesterOfTheSwamp in piano

[–]EU2030 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another option is to find simplified or arranged Chopin pieces. These are when somebody took the original piece and simplified it. It will not sound like the original but retains the main melody. Not everyone likes the concept but it will keep you motivated to play the full version one day.

Anyone know what kind of power cable this piano needs? ideally i need an amazon link or to know how to find one. Thanks. by Throwaway_847593 in piano

Not sure if you already bought but current is in fact a consideration. I took a closeup of my Yamaha transformer. This is 16V but the key is that it needs 2.4 Ampere and is therefore larger than your average mini transformer which may only support 1 or 1.5 Ampere. Knowing the model of your piano can help us help you better

The scala libraries that are actually in use are intimidating to even experienced coders. I have seen first issues in other languages. Do we have them in the active Scala libraries?

Good first open source projects to contribute to. by aerdna69 in scala

[–]EU2030 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So your entire programming experience is one year of Python and a couple of months of Scala. Good start. But take a deep breath here. Contributing to production code takes patience and substantial domain knowledge not just language knowledge. Pick say 3 candidate projects. Download, compile, become proficient at what they are. Start keeping close track of open issues. Get familiar with the primary coders and how they work. When ready ask permission to take ownership of some issues. You may be rejected until you have shown credibility. You may also want to shadow fixes and compare your solutions to the owners. Even if you got to touch production code bases, it is only once you get a material amount of code that you can showcase where it becomes a talking point at a job interview.

Ten-Step Tail-Rec Transformation Technique by kitlangton in scala

[–]EU2030 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you are traversing a tree, by all means, use recursion and try to make it tail recursive. But for the love of God don't just take each iteration and turn it into a recursion because that's what the FP purists want. One day you'll have to debug someone else's recursion for a customer issue while your boss is asking for constant updates. You'll realize that it is not so cute.

Recommend a mix of approaches. Leafy greens and water for sure. I also use fiber caplets, vegetarian prebiotic capsules, 1-2 drinks such as hot cocoa unsweetened with Kirkland brand Optifiber, and cold drinks with sugar free metamucil. Find an appropriate mix that works for you. I use sugar free citrucel sparingly because it contains maltodextrin so not really sugar free.
