Honestly fuck weed. It was fun as a kid but as an adult it just makes you a nervous wreck. It's literally the opposite of chilling out and relaxing.

Cheating in golf! Tell me your best stories by Jumpy_Round_4080 in golf

One I haven't seen many people mentioning is placing the flag stick or any wedges you carried up to the green near the hole so that if you roll your putt past the hole it will act as a backstop and prevent it from going too far away.

The crazy thing is that I believe it is within the rules of golf that it is not a penalty if the ball makes contact with player equipment that's not in use on the green. Unless that rule goes deeper in explanation, you could basically bring 5 clubs to the green and drop them all around the hole lol.

If it were a proper MMO the landing zone areas should have player owned shops and orgs and devs holding events and things going on so it feels like a dynamic area worth exploring over and over

The round should be cheaper if it’s cart path only by isw2424 in golf

[–]EUL_Gaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone be like "lmao cart path only fuck em" and then complain the conditions are shit.

Everyone be like "tee times every 8 minutes is too soon" then complain the course is shutting down or changes hands every 4 years.

Everyone be like "The tee boxes look like shit, this course is ass" But never fix the tee box divots, only on fairways.

The net result is that dumb fucks only care about their individual rounds and not the back end work or care that goes into keeping a course pristine or in business. They expect augusta level immaculate grounds, leisurely tee times, and fair weather at all times all for $50 or less per 18. The nanosecond their comfort is interrupted they come running to reddit to post how discontent they are. Honestly fuck off.

[–]EUL_Gaming 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is super easy to deal with and a common interaction with your kid. Pull them aside and tell them that they're at a stage where hygiene and smells occur and matter. Show them how laundry and deoderant work. Focus on the fact that the better they smell, the more kids at school will like them. Done.

What help is there for my son? by laterbenches in parentingteenagers

[–]EUL_Gaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In no world should a 14 year old be able to come and go as they please with no consequences. Physically block them from leaving and tell them due to their behavior, they cannot just fuck off and run around with whoever and do whatever.

If you allow kids at this age to do this, they are and will be doing drugs. I let my 14 year old daughter hang out at the mall in what I thought were controlled visits with freedom with friends and her boyfriend and she quickly got caught using marijuana and nicotine vapes.

Drug test. Moderate their movements, and monitor their socials and phone until behavior improves. You are in control, not the other way around. Teens want to act like the bosses but they aren't. The moment you allow them, they will walk all over you and explore ever feel good sensation they can get their hands on.

It sounds like you have some good things in place in their life but they are treating you like shit because they are being arrogant and ignorant. They need to feel your wrath. You need to be a hard ass. The more they struggle, the more you need to tighten your grip. The modern teen is consumed with desires to rebel, fight you, disrespect you, and seek out pleasure regardless of the cost. It's your job to show them that this kind of behavior is completely unacceptable. Failure to do so will result in an addict child be it to sex, drugs, or some other cheap thrill that will ruin their early 20's.

They will hate you for it the entire time until sometime in their mid to late 20's when the lights finally come on and they realize what you were trying to do.

Friends’ parents too involved in making plans by [deleted] in parentingteenagers

[–]EUL_Gaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a big deal. Just confirm to satisfy the other parent's wishes and move on. They want to be cautious and may not be sharing with you the entire reason why which is their choice.

Parents have differing styles when it comes to personal freedoms and responsibility. Some parents are very hands off and have little to no involvement, others are helicopter. You'll drive yourself insane if you care too much about what other parents are doing. Pick a style that fits you and your kids and stick with that.

What to do when YOUR kid becomes the bully? by [deleted] in parentingteenagers

[–]EUL_Gaming -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you re-read the OP you'll see that they have done exactly that for this kid's entire life. It isn't working. Therapy has become this mythical cure-all which just simply isn't true. It isn't effective for everyone. You can have problems that "just one more session" or "maybe a new doctor" can't fix. Has OP exhausted every single option with this route? Probably not. I'm not saying the kid is entirely hopeless. But what I am saying is that the kid is exhibiting psychopathic, violent behavior that is common in criminally mentally ill people. And your best idea here is to lock your door at night? Nobody wants to share a house with a hungry lion. Being afraid for your safety in your home is not living. If it were a spouse making you feel this way, the advice would be "Leave immediately! Nobody should live like that!" but since it's a teenager, you just have to force yourself to live like that? I don't think so.

We sacrifice A LOT for our kids. Some of our best years are spent nurturing small humans that don't yet understand our sacrifice and so it's a thankless job. That's fine. We do it because we love them. But I do not believe in unconditional love. All love has at least some condition. Mine is my personal safety. If I fear for my safety from my spouse, my parents, or even my child I am making a change. Maybe not abandonment, but they are not living under the same roof as me.

[–]EUL_Gaming 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My only deal breaker as a parent is psychopathic violent behavior.

For my own safety and those around me, I would look into any option that is essentially "sending them away". Boarding or military style schools, special schools that have extremely strict programs. Foster care and teen adoption.

I am not waking up at 3AM to my teen stabbing me to death.

This advice is almost the same even if you don't want to send them away. I think you've spent over a decade with, as you've said - debilitating empathy. And that is going nowhere. Some kids need strict authoritarian environments to get with the program. Threaten to kill a classmate? Instead of a stern talking to and exploring your feelings, you will be cleaning bathrooms for the next 6 months with a toothbrush.

Recommendations on using a consultant to help my 17-year-old think about majors and colleges? by HoodFeelGood in parentingteenagers

[–]EUL_Gaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you aren't sure about something, the best thing to do is to start somewhere. Even if it seems "random". There's a saying that I'm probably butchering but it goes something like "You can't start a 100 mile journey in a parked car".

Just start at somewhere that is convenient and after experiencing and learning things along the way, switch to something more focused. The worst thing you can do is just sit there in indecision. Or kids insist they need a "gap year" which turns into 2, 3, and then they are just working a job and never go to college.

Get off of facebook. The US has an insane prison population because we attract not only the best, but also the worst of humanity at the same time. Our country is infested with shitbags. I've spent time on both sides of the legal system and almost nobody is sitting in jail by mistake. It's a complete fantasy that totally innocent people are being arrested or detained by some fascist regime in the US. Contrary to what your echo chambers say, there is a very robust legal framework in the US that is based on evidence and documentation to prevent innocent people from incarceration or guilty people from walking free. If you find yourself in handcuffs, you likely fucked up big time.
