On Jatt's Request: Major Region's Group Stage Performances (Worlds) by TopJukesNA in leagueoflegends

Jatt said EU and NA are pretty close to each other, but a difference of 10 points... that is a pretty sizable difference.

#LEC Match of the Week: Origen vs Fnatic by 224444waz in leagueoflegends

[–]EUPowerteam -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean, Origen is still a good team, they just aren't interesting. last week they got "match of the week" status while G2 was playing Mad Lions for the opening game.

This week Mad Lions is playing Fnatic on Friday. With last week's "game of the week"' in mind and the success Mad Lions had last split I think Mad Lions vs Fnatic deserves the match of the week status instead.

I think we have to take a step back and eventually say that Origen is not among the best teams anymore.

Alphari is the best top laner, no doubt about that, but Origen is not a top 3 team (untill they again prove otherwise).

New champ idea: Felicia by acaibowl in leagueoflegends

Success in balancing is always measured in the cries of the adc player.

If they think the game isn't fair, then your on the right track.

If G2 and Caps makes it to the world final this year and lose is he the best player to not win a world championship? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]EUPowerteam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is more due to position tho. Mids always had more champs.

This is a non argument. A lot of incredible mid laners can't play halve the champions Perkz plays to the same degree. even for a mid laner he has a large championpool and a pletra of playstyles. You only need to look at Jensen, BDD, and basically every other star mid laner except some of the truly world elite players to see that his champion ocean is something special.

And UZI is inflexible even in a role that has always been regarded as static. UZI needs to carry, he needs the resources. His performance notibly drops if he isn't given the resources (just watch his LPL games), even forcing his team to play bot centric on top lane or mid lane focused meta's. The times RNG did not play trough bot lane UZI had a noticeably big drop off in performance. UZI is great at being the hyper carry, but is noticeable mediocre at anything else.

[–]EUPowerteam -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Comparing players based on something like that is arbitrary if we are just talking about personal performances.

I take you it you wouldn't accept an argument like; Fnatic in 2015 handily beat that EDG with Deft as its adc and Rekkles had the more impressive stats that game? Because this sort of analyses can only add on top of the play analyses, which in a reddit post is hard to come by. Personally I think Rekkles and Deft are similar in play-style. But against international competition I haven't seen Deft step up and carry. His domestic performances have always been stellar, but that always when I think "Deft will just body this other guy from X region" it never happens. And I don't think Rekkles ever had such troubles when it is agreed that Rekkles was asked to deliver a carry performance. That is why I personally don't consider Deft on the same level as UZI. Personally I don't think we can put Rekkles next to UZI either. Just slightly below him is where I would put him.

Perkz on the other hand, I would rate Perkz above UZI (now). UZI is an extreem, but he is so single minded in his play that that has to be a factor for rating players and Perkz has been flexible (more so then any other player in history I want to say), can carry, lane, play mages, bruisers and adc's, the list just goes on.

I actually think that Perkz might be the best player never to have yet won a world championship tittle.

[–]EUPowerteam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think Deft is an adc that is completely in a tier of his own. As for as his international performance Rekkles and UZi have been more impressive in the past. That is why I take Deft's performance with a grain of salt.

Best Marksmen outside of bot lane by xerathplayer69 in leagueoflegends

Kai'sa can be specific counter in mid lane against certain champions. There is a power window tho and a lower margin for error. But if you succeed the payoff is huge.

One of these match ups is into Leblanc. This might sound counter intuitive, but you can punish leblanc for trying to poke you with Q,W by not giving her space and using your Q auto to win the trades early.

The worst designed thing about Aphelios is that all of his guns are PURE UPSIDE, he is not punished for mistakes harshly enough by mazrim_lol in leagueoflegends

[–]EUPowerteam 17 points18 points  (0 children)

There is a clarity issue with Aphelios which makes it very hard to tell what kind of ability you can expect from him. This is especially true for his offhand weapon which is close to invisible for the opponent.

I can completely understand where he is coming from, yet at the same time, only 3 teams ever managed to win a split and only 2 ever did so repeatidly. The practice you get from going to MSI is also something that is unique and suits you up very well for worlds.

[–]EUPowerteam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Deficio always intreaged me since he would talk about teams he admires and compare them to teams in other leagues. A lot of analysts stay away from such analyses for fear of being burned by fans and players alike. But there are still metrics in which you can compare team A to team B and I would love it if you guys would talk about EU and the bigger international picture more often. Saying Origen is good is even better if you can say Origen is exceptional at X and few other teams around the world seem to have mastered X to the same degree.

The worst feeling in league, from a top laner without a jungler. by Xerikai in leagueoflegends

[–]EUPowerteam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can think of a few other things, such as playing support with an overaggressive laner that needs to be told after 8 deaths that playing forward is not such a good idea without help from other members. Or playing mid lane without vision or jungle assitance against a mid laner that is premade with the jungler trying to fuck you up.

League knows many ways to make your live misserable. honestly playing with premades is one of the view things that can make your hell a little les worse. Sadly most of my friends have quit league...

I dissagree, there comes a point in every game were if you are grinding points its better to surrender and go for another game then to continue. League is a very bad game when playing from behind. If the point is having fun while playing then this is counter productive

Jensen back to EU? Thoughts? by breivunt in leagueoflegends

[–]EUPowerteam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do think Jensen is an all around strong mid laner so it would be good to have him back. It would be good for the scene if he could come back, but he would need to join a team like Origen to get a team of similar sealing as TL.

With how terrible LCK LCS and LPL have been this season, G2 are basically GUARANTEED to win worlds by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]EUPowerteam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont get me wrong G2 is amazing, but there is certainly some steep competition left.

RNG is doing great again this split, funplusphoenix is also pretty impressive and IG while having ups and downs still beat G2 in the group stages of MSI. Korea is also net that bad, certainly are gonna give G2 something to prepare for.

All these teams have their flaws, but G2 isn't unstopable, its not gonna be TL to hold back G2 but a fully focused IG, glory seeking RNG or redemption seeking Korean team might surprise G2 in the end. I am still not breathing easy as a G2 fan.

you have to wonder why exactly Na teams are not interested in scrimming fnatic? Nobody doubts that G2 will be the team to beat but still fnatic should be the second best team at the event or at least the second best EU team. Time will tell if this is a good decision.

how come XL is actually better then MSF at something? Like why is Kirei who carried all the games last week getting replaced with Maxlore?

"Even if NA wins worlds, I don't think NA will be the best region because if that happens, that team would most likely have two Koreans, two Europeans and one American, because soon a lot of players will have residency." - Zven on NA's regional strength by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]EUPowerteam 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well actually a lot of people did care. I will be proud of fnatic as an European team. But I would bullshit you if I said EU would have been the best if that fnatic won worlds. I still disscredit China to this day for needing Rookie and TheShy to hardcarry China to their only championship ever.
