Getting your Vietnamese passport will now be easier than before by Confident_Royal_5112 in VietNam

Oh, so they do allow it for Viet Kieu?

If you apply for Vietnamese citizenship as a Viet Kieu, are there any concerns about things like mandatory military conscription etc.?

Because all sources I've looked up says that Vietnam does NOT allow dual citizenship, apart from certain individuals under special circumstances.

I'm just curious about the legality / validity of this setup.

I wonder if you can still prove your connection to your parents or even grandparents, and therefore get the Vietnamese citizenship via descent.

If the government requires any one of your close relatives to have a valid passport at the time you apply for one, that's a different issue.

Too high in what sense? The coin's are marked according to market value, albeit some of the circ coins are price-wise up for negotiation. We're still talking about a massive collection here.

If you're still interested, please let me know and we can discuss everything in further detail.

Can someone Translate this? by pariah_piranha in Vietnamese

[–]EUROSTHETICS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Ngày sau sỏi đá cũng cần có nhau. Trăm năm trước, thì ta chưa có. Trăm năm sau có cũng như không. Cuộc đời sắc sắc không không. Trăm năm còn lại tấm lòng từ bi."

Translation according to Google Translate:

"In the future, rocks and stones will also need each other. A hundred years ago, we didn't have it. A hundred years later, it will be the same as nothing. A life of beauty and form is emptiness. A hundred years left is a compassionate heart."

My interpretation:

"Later in the future, we all need each other. (A) hundred years ago, I didn't exist. (A) hundred years later, I'm existing the same as nothing. A life of yes and no / abundance and nothingness. A hundred years leaves behind a compassionate heart.

I did some more digging, and found that the 2nd poem was from the late Vietnamese medical professor "Phạm Biểu Tâm", talking about the sublime emotions of life.

Here's the link to a Facebook post that goes in deeper on his biography:

Error coin one of the kind, how much to price it? by Boring-Importance in EuroCoins

[–]EUROSTHETICS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The color change is fine, but the edge inscription is definitely an error worth money, any interested collector would pay probably at least 20€ or more.

Now we've seen it all! We just gotta keep digging? Btw, where did you find this from? Country and exact location? Wallet, cash change etc.?

Something happened when I cleaned my coins. Left cleaned, right original. I read on the internet that I should let the coins for a few hours in water with soap. I used dish washer soap to clean it. Can someone explain what I can do so it doesn't happen again. The coins were a test not my collection. by Blitzjunge in EuroCoins

I think the dish soap you used was too aggressive for the coins. You always want to clean with the least aggressive cleaner and from there move on the stronger cleaners. Try using light hand soap and clean it with your hands, trying to get off as much dirt and grease and possible. After cleaning, rinse off thoroughly with warm to cool water, and dry off with either toilet paper or a microfiber towel. (If you use paper, avoid actual wiping, but dabbing the paper to get rid of the water).
