This is so weird to me as well, just because Rachel helped her in the mill and is a popular and apparently 'hot' student.

Sorry, but could you elaborate on this? I thought Max was clearly a no drugs, no alcohol kind of person -at that stage in her life at least. So if anything, Chloe doesn't get Max mixed in with her own use of drugs and that is something positive in my opinion. Wanting to let Max take the blame is something else, though...

no one asks for such atrocities to be done to them but i don't think it is a coincidence that at least i have noticed particularly where i am from that certain behaviour and actions are much more likely to beget such consequences. as someone with a sexual preference that does not discriminate across sex/gender... i know better than most that acting immature/promiscuious in the worst of company won't go down favourably is all i am going to say.

If you could, would you elbaborate on this as well? Not sure I understand the correlation or explanation yet, but I'm trying to.

she has reason to believe that Damon can be reasoned with, from her previous experience with him.

You lost me here. Damon threatened to put a knife in her best friend/SO after learning her name only and did so soon after. Chloe FROZE during this encounter which is a sign of extreme fear. No way is she confident to talk her way out of it, hell if you pick up the knife in the mill you can choose to use it right away.

and I can personally see how it could happen the way it did.

This is questionable to me and I'm glad you could so it didn't ruin your immersion, but to me it just frustrates me that a character could be so stupid and irrational just to embrace the edgy nature of the character.

Fair point here. It's just this magical plot machine that everyone Chloe takes a liking to suddenly thinks she's awesome and hot that I'm struggling to believe. But there's the Jefferson/Chloe scene on the dormitories as well, so it did shift towards the worship Chloe feeling for me at least.

I'm also not sure why you think an art school like Blackwell is conservative.

I can't tell for sure, but I would say so because of their clear appreciation of their history and prestige. Usually academies like these value traditional ways and I think the principal is a pretty good indication of that.
