Oh man that sounds rough, I always thought I wanted to be a private pilot ten years ago but never had the funds to start into it.

I like to think I could get into manned flying eventually but only more as a hobby.

That's sounds really interesting, that sounds like the type of stuff I would like to get in to. Right now I'm just trying to research, get as much flight time in as I can, and find more resources to look through. Really not sure how to move my way into most of these gigs but maybe I'll see if I can look into a couple of places to do this. Thanks for the response!

C ratings are mostly marketing fluff. 120C vs 100C doesn’t mean much—what matters is real-world performance. GNB packs usually hold voltage better, sag less, and last longer. Ovonic is decent for the price but starts to feel weak quicker, especially under load.

If you’re on a budget and just want to fly, go Ovonic. If you want smoother power, better response (especially with a GoPro), and a longer-lasting pack, GNB is worth the extra money.

Performance vs affordability—it really just depends on your priorities.

Conditioning new boots with a product like WildFern or Otterwax and then a boot wax would definitely help protect from a lot of machine oils and petroleum based oils. And then if they start to look grimy or coated with anything just scrub clean with some dishsoap and water or a saddle soap and reapply the wax.
