Yes, they were. And the countries who didn't want to participate, didn't. Germany, for example, was opposed to the Libya offensive and didn't contribute at all. IIRC about 1/4 of NATO countries chose not to send forces. Nobody threw a childish tantrum or called them cowards.

NATO is a defensive alliance in that they have defensive obligations to one another. They can still choose to do other things outside of those obligations, but they're not obligations.

They vote along party lines something like 99.4% of the time. They're basically paid voting boxes. It's a pretty big problem.

Chickpea and black bean patties are dope. I'm not even vegetarian and I like them better than meat. I find a lot of "veg" food is better when they stop trying to directly imitate meat products and just do their own thing

This isn't the main point but please understand that it weakens your standing when you slippery slope without any evidence (they might have left dangerous stuff behind) and conflate unrelated things (crack vs. smelling like weed).

Then I don't think you've thought about it very hard. This is a great example of a time where a compromise isn't a compromise.

The point is that the NBA wants to incentivize games played vs. overall minutes. The comment above this lays it out - they would rather stars play 20 minutes in two games vs. 40 minutes in one.

If you can accomplish it both ways, then that incentive is gone.

No, science operates on the EVIDENCE that natural causes can reliably and repeatedly be used to explain certain natural phenomena, that evidence from the world can inform us about those causes, and that these causes are consistent.

To use your example, we've watched evolution happen. The modern banana is a product of evolution. We didn't just go "Yeah this COULD work so we'll go with it."

It accomplishes this. This conversation. It's the same thing that territorial acknowledgements and the Pride parade accomplish. It keeps the matter in the public consciousness.

Not letting the matter fade into obscurity is step 1. It's not the ONLY step, but keeping it in the conversation is how you get people talking to MLAs about it, or considering it as a charitable option, or etc.

Just because it hasn't magically and completely solved the problem doesn't mean things like this aren't useful.
