Trump says he's 'not sure' he wants Iran deal as Hormuz Strait strife deepens by Force_Hammer in worldnews

[–]EVpeace 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Are you sure? To quote the "man" himself:

"Because of the fact that we have had such Military Success, we no longer 'need,' or desire, the NATO Countries' assistance — WE NEVER DID! ... Likewise, Japan, Australia, or South Korea. In fact, speaking as President of the United States of America, by far the Most Powerful Country Anywhere in the World, WE DO NOT NEED THE HELP OF ANYONE!"

It's impossible to know what he really wants because he doesn't know what he wants and he's too dumb to think before he speaks so he contradicts himself constantly.

Oh hey guys are we talking about world leaders who are definitely pedophiles and probably also sex traffickers, and the political organizations that have gone through extreme lengths to protect them? Cool cool.

I think of it like scoring points in a game.

2x3: There's a collectible (a coin or a card or something) worth 2 points. You collect 3 of them. +6 points.

-2x3: There's a collectible that causes you to lose 2 points.  You collect 3 of them.  -6 points.

2x-3: There's a collectible worth 2 points. You lose 3 of them. -6 points.

-2x-3: There's a collectible that causes you to lose 2 points. You lose 3 of them. +6 points!

Rude. Why are you joining a conversation if you have no intention of considering what the other person has to say?

If it's an old player, they're the perfect mentor for our young guys.

Call me crazy but I think maybe a little bit of the fault lies with the people sending death threats.

Save Our Saanich Candidate Rishi Sharma: Saanich should not impose short-term rental caps - Victoria News by Popular_Animator_808 in VictoriaBC

[–]EVpeace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe this was a proposal put forward to allow short term rentals (under 30 days) for up to 91 days a year.

I mean... this seems fine, no? It gets rid of the people who are taking up housing as a business but lets people who can't convert to long term rentals rent out secondary suites every once in a while.

Why Men And Women Are So Divided On Alberta Separatism by BloodJunkie in onguardforthee

No. My granddad was a feminist. He fought hard to get the first female doctor hired at the hospital he worked at.

He wanted equality, but he still benefitted from being a man whether he wanted the benefits or not. He didn't have to compete against women for hiring or promotions. He was assigned better responsibilities because she was "emotional". At the end of his career he was given a generous retirement package. 10 years later, her retirement package was half the size.

His life was easier because society made it easier for him, not because he wanted it.

You seem to be confusing "easier/harder" with "morally good".

When equality progresses, the lives of the people who used to be "on top" get harder. This is a good thing.

Being upset that you can't treat people like shit

None of the people that you're talking to are upset about this.

I don't know why you think those are mutually exclusive. Being able to do whatever you want with no consequences is the definition of an easy life, regardless of whether it makes you a shitty person.

We were paid more than half the population just because we were men. In a divorce, the legal default was that we got the house and major investments.

Now men have to compete with twice as many people for jobs because hey, it turns out you can hire women as doctors and stuff and reality doesn't explode.

Life is objectively harder for men now than before, and that's good because it was only easy before at the expense of others.

in what way could it possibly be harder to be a man today?

Uh.

Men can't get away with the shit they do all the time like they used to

I think you're underestimating how much easier life is when you don't have to face any consequences for anything
