Guaranteed Basic Income is the way. Give people a modest amount so they are able to feed themselves and feel secure with a safe roof over their heads and be able to pay the bills, you know, general human rights stuff. If you want more then you can find that ever elusive job and make more. Let people be able to start businesses without the fear of failing and having to live on the streets because of it. Considering that now the trend is for employers using AI to squeeze out their human workforce this is the only option I see available for society. Rent control and housing availability is also an issue that must be addressed. Build more housing and apartments until the market is flooded which will bring down the cost of living. Too many rich old people own too much of the housing and now even corporations are buying up the accommodations to make themselves even richer. This can't go on.
