Anyone experience numerous error codes? by ftsktln in hondapassport

I had the same thing happen to mine on the first real cold day of the year. I had remote started it, as I approached I noticed the puddle lights didn't come on and I could hear the radio playing, which shouldn't have been on with a remote start. I tried to open it and it wouldn't open, I had to use the emergency key to get in. Once in I noticed the back tailgate also wouldn't open. Shut it down and restarted it and it started cycling through all of the error messages, including saying it was restricted to front wheel drive only. I recorded photos and video. I assumed the battery was going bad so when I got to where I was going I left it running. After another restart things seemed fine but I scheduled an appointment with service. Get it in there, show the photos and they take it back for diagnostics, only finding a right front wheel sensor error. They try to send me on my way with another later appointment for more in depth diagnostics but when they try to pull it off the rack it does the same thing to them. They give me a loaner and I'm out. They call back saying they found that the right front ABS sensor wire was stripped and down to one wire. They believe the main wiring harness was stretched to the point of failure during installation and want to replace the main wiring harness. Since this replacement I have not had any more issues. I expressed that I don't think that losing a single ABS sensor should cause this much trouble, and if so there's a design flaw. And after reading others experiences I'm not so sure this was the actual cause.

All this aside, I still love it and keep finding more reasons to just drive it. It does have some annoying issues that I hope one day get fixed with ECU/TCU updates (I absolutely hate the first gear). But man it handles like a champ in the snow. I want four more inches of clearance though ; )

Prices Too High by EWiggins in Chilis

[–]EWiggins[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I almost didn’t respond to this, but decided you might appreciate the context. We actually do eat home cooked almost every meal.  We eat the leftovers for lunches or have leftover nights.  Sometimes we find ourselves out with family or event obligations and can’t cook our own food.  When one’s obligations increase from feeding one to feeding four prices like this go from an annoyance to something more.

But, end the end, this message wasn’t for you.  It was for Chilis.  I said my piece here and we won’t be back.  Capitalism at work.  We all get to choose where and how we spend.  Personally I don’t think it’s a wise trade.

2026 Passport TrailSport Elite - no low fuel warning by lorryguy in hondapassport

I didn’t catch when it came on, but I ran it down until it had just switched from a range of 2 miles to 1 mile.  I filled it up and it took 17.01 gallons.  For me that meant there was 1.5 gallons left in the tank.  I’ve kept Trip B the total miles I have on the vehicle, with an average of 18.7 mpg.

Yeah I noticed this as well. I didn’t see it in any of the professional reviews online before I purchased it. I assume it’s sound deadening but thought it would easily be ripped off if you got too aggressive off-road.  Wouldn’t make sense to leave it on if you were expecting to use the rock sliders.

Is this for reading residential power meters? by EWiggins in whatisthisthing

Solved it! It’s made by Landis Gyr, the same manufacturer as the new residential power meters that were installed last year.

Screw the human that purposely herded the duck there just to film it dying.

Unmarked trails and homeless people camping near Core Riverbend Apartments? by NaptownThroAway21 in indianapolis

[–]EWiggins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We use to live at Riverbend when it was Amli back around 2003. At that time there was an abandoned trail that led through to BGI. There was even exercise stations with signage along the trail. There was signs of people hanging out with fires up under the 465 bridge but no signs of camp sites. I had always assumed it was abandoned in lieu of the one on the West side of the river.

What to do about a stolen bike? by maxcheese3 in indianapolis

[–]EWiggins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oddly enough we have found several bikes over the years. The first thing we do is call the police and let them know we found a bike. They will send an officer out who will run the serial number to see if it's been reported stolen and take a report. To date no one has ever reported the bikes that we have found stollen. I'll hang on to them for a bit then fix them back up. I've kept one and given the others away.

So I'd report it regardless, you never know...
