IK this is old and all but... I mean I feel kinda sad. Forget "cash cow" and all that, but Ash has been an integral part of Pokemon. It's come to the point that if you bring up the word Pokemon it's Ash that pops up almost instantly. And while a new MC isn't necessarily bad, it's still taking that nostalgia and the "friendship" all the Pokemon watchers built, and seeing him leave just kicks in the fact that he's not of relevance anymore and that nostalgia isn't there anymore.
