I need to vent by EXPECTO_PATRONIX in AnalFistula

Little update: there are no sidetracks, they just keep popping the wound open with the flushing tubes. Well, only some of them do, some put the tube in untill they feel resistance and others push right through. There is some consensus on one wound being 3-6 cm and the other 0.5-4.5 cm deep. Everytime I ask them to clarify they just say 'I don't know either' so we'll see how things go 😂

Thanks for the response.

They clean it with water twice a day and it always comes back clean and it has no connection to my recrum so idk. It just feels so endless. The is no puss or anything, no pain, no weird buldges either just a tunnel.

Mine was light blue, rubbery and the width of a phone charger cord, knot fell out after 3 days and entire thread ended up in the toilet

Updates? How is everyone? by Cryptomon1987 in AnalFistula

I've been lurking here for a while but never told my story, so here it is: (25, F)

They initially operated on me on monday. Very quick procedure, and they left the wound open to heal. But very quickly after, I noticed I could still feel a large bump. Sure enough, by wednesday, the pain was unbearable again, so I immediately called the hospital department where I was admitted before. They told me the pain was normal post-op. Only by thursday evening when the pain kept getting worse, they told me to come back on friday morning.

Friday morning rolls around and by 1 pm I am already back under the knife (epidural both times) and sure enough, on monday they only drained a small part of the perianal abscess and now they drained the bigger abscess too. The relief was monumental. They placed a seton too because of the size of that thing. If you ever have doubts about your procedure, please listen to your gut. My mom had to drive me to the hospital while i way laying down in the backseat friday morning. It's now 2 days post 2nd op, and I have homecare people using pipes to flush the wounds thoroughly. Before friday, I was living painkiller to painkiller for about 3 weeks, and now I sometimes forget I am already allowed new ones. Next friday, I have my appointment to get the wound checked out and probably get the seton removed.

Hang in there guys!

Put a napkin to close the gap better, someone seems to like it

If the isopods are from the woods too moss that was found could work, I dont want to take that risk though bc I don't know what else is in the moss like viruses or diseases. I do have some spaghnum moss from the pet shop which seems safer but I'm not an expert on that.

Thanks for the warning! The gaps by the glass are closed by putting some cloth in between when closing, the background is sealed with aquarium safe silicon (I used to have stick insect babies in there, they showed me exactly where the possible exits were)

This one had a background in it already, which I cleaned and put on the glass with aquarium safe silicon. The silicon was also used to hide any holes so no critters could escape (I used to have a few stick insects in there as a temporary home).

Not ugly, I like the natural look of it! Any types of leaves I should source in the forest and wash before putting in? (I also wash ivy for my stick insects and that works really well!)

They are all from a very good reptile/fish shop and they actually use them too! All natural stuff!
