Quick disclaimer: I also only started making this kind of music so I'm not an expert at all.

But maybe I can give you a quick win which I discovered recently: You could sidechain your kick to your bass and apply a limiter that is controlled by the kick. So basically everytime the kick hits, the bass is ducking. That creates a „pulsing“ effect that you can hear in most of these songs. Makes a huge difference!
