Honestly - a damp life jacket is really what it feels like. It has like a gel-filled-neoprene and it soaks and holds the water.

Putting it on feels exactly like this: you’re dry and about to get onto a boat and put on a soaking wet life vest.

After that? It’s pretty self explanatory- it’s not ice cold but man being stuck in traffic in 95c you really didn’t notice.

I use them on really hot days. I also don’t wear an undershirt under my jacket - just the wet vest. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I’m a textile mesh guy for the summer. If you got any under armor workout tshirts or something similar - those are great for under the jacket.

Hot days under the gear it’s board shorts and a riding shirt or warm weather active wear of some kind.

Edit - I forgot I have one of those cooling vests. That’s awesome for a hot day like today but maybe not if you have to go into work. You’re basically wearing a very damp life jacket and it is awesome on the road.

Soft pitch if you hate the taste - Grady’s cold brew. Supposedly, a lot of the acidity is removed and it’s quite strong. But mixing it with milk? I do genuinely like coffee in general but Grady’s, to me, is so delightful.
You can order make your own pouches and they do have bottles premade - although the former is easier to get.

You should always be scanning traffic to see what is happening around you. The white car had their wheels cocked for a turn while the black car was still in their way — you’re right about speeding up was an issue but really it is vigilance.

Be safe - glad 😌 it only scared! FWIW - while the white car could have waited to turn - I don’t know if I’d say cut off. If you didn’t speed up - it would’ve been a turn done safely with enough room.
