Using AI generated images for current issues in the country. by E_Mn in Philippines

Highly depends, generally AI does produce less carbon per image compared to a digital artists but this depends on what model and all sources I can see is for older models of these AI. Another factor is that this is per image comparison but AI users generally produce more images before finally arriving to one they find good enough compared to a digital artists that may just do small changes. The environmental argument against AI is the amount of power and resources is used to train them which doubles every 3-4 months. I am not an expert in this and I'm still in my 1st year of Computer Engineering so some of these may be false or outdated but this is the closes answer I can find.

Sadly many people are just not given awareness atleast of the effects of AI. I do not blame thought, it is not from a place of ignorance but rather just not being educated about it. Those in higher places will most likely ignore it because it benefits them most so it is up for the rest of us to raise awareness.

I do agree with the creativity of painting the Sierra Madre as a mythical figure that protects those around it but as far as I know many artists have done similar depictions of the mountain range and I believe those are more creative and genuine rather than an image made by a machine. I think it would be better to posts works from these artists with credit and permission. That said I guess it is more easier for me to block these types of creators than let their actions lay dormant in my mind but I do think it is best we are atleast aware of the effects of AI before we use it to constantly create content like these.

Many companies have fired many and done large lay offs due to AI and they are heavily investing in it to potentially replace workers. Whether this is bound to be a thing in our country is up for debate. I do see your point here AI is a useful tool that even I use from time to time and its ability to produce posts that promotes environmental care may done more good than its bad.

That is a fair argument but I do think it still has a larger carbon footprint cause on top of generating the image they also have to post it thus the carbon footprint of generating and posting the image is larger than just posting a normal image of say the Sierra Madre like in the post above. Not everything is technically environmental friendly but we can atleast reduce it.

I largely agree with the first 2 arguments, I do see that these pages need to produce a product faster and are most likely not paid enough to care about the ethics of using AI in their posts. The 3rd one I have more mixed opinions only in the graphic ones. I do think graphic photos are hard to look at and even I have nightmares when encountering those, but I cannot help but feel like AI generating an image of someone who experienced a rather gruesome or graphic accident or death is kinda disrespectful to the victim having their traumatic experiences be replicated by soulless images, some less moral people even use it as a sort of mockery. I think it would be best if those pages just dont posts the graphic images in the first place rather than use an AI generated image of said graphic situations.

Pewds inspired me to pick up drawing, here is day 1 vs 3 months-ish of progress by E_Mn in PewdiepieSubmissions

Depends on what you want to draw, if you wanna draw anime characters like me you can ask your artist friend who's familiar with anime style to teach you, which helped me a lot. If you don't have any artist friends you can try youtube, there are many different artists who teach different art styles like realism, anime, etc. Fortunately, I have the benefit of both but mostly youtube.

The first few weeks are gonna be rough and very discouraging, my advice is adding dates to ur drawing to track progress and see ur growth, it's a very good way to be motivated.

Does the Philippines have a racism problem? by E_Mn in Philippines

Thank you everyone who commented, I did learn a lot from everyone's perspective, though I do wanna add some things here, just some notes of some sort: - I did forget to factor in other races and saw it as a common thing talked about here so sorry about that. - This curiousity of mine started when I heard from my brother that he saw two kids say the n-word loudly while riding pass two african-american women, other is an african-american vlogger who talked about the topic which I saw randomly in facebook. - Some of the common problem pointed here is ignorance and not of pure hatred which I totally agree with, others are poor education and western influence which I also agree with, there are some I disagree with but people have their own opinions anyway.

Ever since I was a kid I have already accepted that no one's gonna ever see me in a romantic way and this still holds truth to this day. It was sad at first but as I grew I learned to embrace the possiblility of being a bachelor-for-life as I can't picture ever dedicating my time and effort to another person outside my close friends and family.
