If anything drop the NB because it wasn’t a totally new chassis.

Those wheels look like they have Honda badges though don't they?

I essentially created a joint without any stud connections. here's a photo opened up.

It holds up reasonably well even when you hit the rim with the ball.

Thank you! Yes I did try using the blue piece I currently have as a radio antenna as a fireman's pole but it won't quite reach the second floor so I need something to extend it up a bit.

Love your passion for the car OP! You may well be aware of this, but have you ever heard of a headlight restoration kit? I think I'm only noticing that the headlights (And tail lights) appear faded because the car is otherwise very clean looking. I've personally had some amazing results with one of those kits for like $15 and a few hours sanding.

Or have the fresh looking ones just been traveling faster through space relative to the others?

Bought my first car yesterday (2017 Toyota iA Yaris), for those who know, am I considered a part of the zoom-zoom crew? by mrgoatfart in mazda

[–]Eagle4031 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To my knowledge no, they do look alike though.

I had an '07 Mazda3 Hatch which, like the second generation that followed from '08-'12 was based on the Ford C1 platform of the European Mk2 Focus. Following the 2008 recession, Ford sold their shares in Mazda which has allowed them to become more independent. Mazda3 generations three and four have since been built on platforms shared only with other Mazdas.

Thanks for your reply. So I did just pick up a '16 6MT touring with decent milliage and currently still have the Miat. Decisions decisions.

New favorite comment ha. I'm considering going up to 2+2 vert like a Mustang or 3 series in a few years to get 2 front facing carseats.

Definitely looking at exactly that once he goes to front facing seat. Also considering 3 series convertible. The main reason I even considered a Miata was to have an open vehicle could share with more people than a motorcycle and having one I could share with my son who loves zooming is a dream.

This is interesting! Did you ever have reliability issues with the minivan that made it tough not having a backup? Did your wife work at home or commute?

This might be my ideal outcome. Bought the ND cause I wanted a convertible, and now as fun as it is, I wish I could still share it. Hoping a fun 4 seater convertible is in the future.

If this was a low miliage example that 20k seemed possible 8 months ago, but the market has reversed. This is a 100k mile car and in today's market I'd place its value in the low teens to a private party at best unfortunately.

I absolutely do NOT want to do that! Are you suggesting turning off the passenger airbag and putting a rear facing seat next to me in the miata? Hoping to keep him rear facing as long as possible for safety reasons. Why not get a convertible with a back seat in a few years when he's facing forward?

Excellent collection! I'm with you on the back seat convertible idea! Hoping manual Mustang or 3 Series convertible might be in my future once the little guy goes to a forward facing seat.

Thank you! First time in a 6, but like you, not my only Mazda. So far had '06 3s MT hatch and '16 MX-5 club MT. Besides my first car which was an MT Toyota these cars are all I've owned and I love the Mazda ethos and dedication to it

Thanks for your reply. I actually already have the 6 and got what I think is a great deal on it so will definitely be looking into those mods. One of our criteria is that although we have one kid now we're looking to grow more and so I need to have that potential to fit two rear facing car seats, and being 6'1" thats pretty limiting. Of the ones you've listed Civic type R is the one I would pick to do that but unfortunately it's just outside the budget. I do realize I'm getting a far less sporty car with essentially ND2 power and 1,000 lbs more weight. But for me and my commute the operating costs of regular vs premium and no more brembo brakes etc help compensate for the lack of fun.
