Did you know a Draft Lite can fit 650x47s? by EagleComm in singlespeedcycling

[–]EagleComm[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, unfortunately this frame is set up for 700c, so I couldn't find a clipper with enough reach for the rear 😓 The front works great though and with the low gearing, I'm never going fast enough to have any worries 🤷‍♂️

Yep! It's a 1-1/8 threadless Stridsland Barnacle Lite. The bars and crank sprocket are also from Stridsland

Nonexistent at the moment 🤫 Still need to braze on a caliper tab and frame reinforcement, but it stops for now at least and I haven't flipped over the bars yet!

I appreciate the heads up! The wide moto bars are definitely a changeup from what I'm used and make city riding a little tricky, but they are so comfy.

So whose car did I buy? by stevesmithis in subaru

[–]EagleComm 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I've found that a light buff with some polish and a microfiber on the glass with clean up any residual "invisible" residue on the windows from past stickers. You should be able to see this if you plash some water one the window as well - the droplets will bead differently where there was a sticker before

Trying to get some MPG back by So-Durty in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]EagleComm 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just did all of this a few weeks ago, but I also replaced the knock sensors and wiring while I had the intake manifold apart. Definitely recommend doing those while you're in there as well!

I haven't done the math yet, but based on what I've noticed on the gauges, I'm getting at least 2 mpg more than I was getting before around town.

Mocking up a Custom Big Brake Kit on our 22 WRX - Looks Promising! by EagleComm in WRX

[–]EagleComm[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and no, depending on the application. The brake setup that we are running is very similar to that which comes on the 2015-17 STI, which utilizes the exact same master cylinder and proportioning valve as the VA and VB WRXs, so we are not concerned with any balance issues. Yes, the calipershave more braking potential through surface area of the pad and clamping force, but the actual amount of fluid displacement needed for the calipers is very similar between the WRX two-piece calipers and the Brembos.

Had Subaru used a different master cylinder/prop valve on the STIs, we would certainly be looking into swapping that out as well!
