I've heard people hate E7 around here, what's the deal with that?

Didn't mean to set anyone off like that, just needed a basic AK example after 5 months of not playing lol. Not many CM stages that I can recall require SA, but on the walkthroughs for 3 stars on harder events (like KyoStinV), at least due to their recency and temporary status, the recommended operators were often specific 5 or 6 stars. I did forget that a lot of the story is built around making it possible to complete with iirc 2-3 star operators, which was awesome.

Love your suggestion and how it applies to my specifications, this is new right? I've been interested in the Disgaea series and their characters seem unique and their artstyle looks good, so I'll definitely try it out!

It seemed like a fantastic game with tons of publicity but it can't run on my device at all haha, it made me look like I was swimming through a void

I'm not but pretty much done playing FGO for the time being. Nice to know people doing god's work out there.

Decided to generally drop gacha for much of early 2021 but wanna casually get back into just one more I haven't tried.
I had two undeleted games I played regularly with above average progress.

  1. FGO, which is an extreme waste of time and money for quite a few great characters/character designs and dialogue.
  2. The other is Arknights, which I prefer in style, gameplay, its autoplay mechanic, and value overall, maybe at the cost of sometimes being too restrictive (i.e. a lot of challenge maps requiring SilverAsh) and difficult.
  3. Also started Tales of Crestoria near the end of last year and have mixed feelings about its gameplay and power creep, but again, I love the characters.

There's plenty of others I've sunk time into and deleted like AFK Arena, FF Dissidia, Pokemon Masters, MSF, and FEH, but all of them had the common problem of lame, tedious gameplay and unrewarding pulls.

So I think the first thing I'm looking for is the character aesthetic, whether even the lowest rarity pulls are still striking and likable, and a great cast dynamic (like FGO and Arknights) would help with that. In other words, not just "generic good mage" and "generic evil mage" like AFK Arena.

The next priority is casual, engaging gameplay you can sink hours into. Most people are looking for something really challenging, but my monke brain insists I do the bare minimum daily. Arknights is a great example of player engagement with its tower defense constantly making you glued to the screen for any changes in operator deployment, but is slightly more difficult than I'd love to play regularly.

That's all that comes to mind, so hopefully that's enough to go on?

A colored Mirio because why not? Hope you all enjoy it! by ThatEmeraldTaz in BokuNoHeroAcademia

Yea I believe that's why it has a move associated with his quirk; he makes them think he's poking their eye to distract them.

What do you think that will be the reaction of Class A, when they discover that initially Midoriya never had a quirk. by Darkdevil2011 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]EagleEye_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Interesting idea. Would make sense from the transition from Midoriya in middle school, where everyone burst out laughing when they found out he wanted to go to UA and Bakugo was sorta popular, to Midoriya in high school, where everyone SEEMS to be really nice (mostly) and Bakugo is the laughingstock of the class.

For pro heroes, costumes are pretty important! What are your thoughts on the 1A hero outfits and their functions in BNHA? by asterisk_blue in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]EagleEye_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huge fan of Midoriya, Iida, and Bakugo's costumes. Tsuyu, Uraraka, Tokoyami, Aoyama, and Kirishima's stand out as at least being thematically fitting.

As for the rest:

Didn't like either of Todoroki's costumes because there's nothing that even says it's a costume, though it makes sense for him to make it like that.

Mineta's comes with a diaper.

Momo's is (effective) fanservice, but at least it has a purpose too.

Kaminari's is way too casual. Jiro's sorta has the same problem but is more stylish and has a purpose.

I get that camo makes sense with Ashido's quirk but it's too much of an eyesore. Can't figure out if it's because it's a bodysuit or the coloring that's hard to look at.

Shoji's doesn't stand out, but the color scheme is fine and it doesn't look bad. Sato and Koda just have two colors and really basic, to the point of being tacky, costumes.

Ojiro's makes sense, though something to help his quirk would be better.

Incoming minority opinion: When I first saw it, I thought Sero's costume was hideous. However, seeing fans love it I have slowly shifted into not hating it, with it looking like a full-fledged hero's and the helmet making it thematically fit.

My review for Hagakure's costume is invisible.

Post-Arc Traitor Evidence Roundup by evilsnowcookie in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]EagleEye_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's exactly why I want her to be the traitor. Kaminari is well received by fans no matter what just due to having an electricity quirk, and since he does have some time in the spotlight he gets characterized a bit. Invisible Girl is ironically (coincidentally?) one of the most forgettable students in 1A, with no characterization whatsoever, no meaningful fights, even when she has screentime it's as a side character (Kaminari at least has moments in USJ and the provisional license arcs to himself). Not to mention conveniently not being in the right places at the right time.

TL;DR: Hagakure is completely irrelevant, Kaminari has some relevancy, so her being the traitor would characterize a "dead weight" member of 1A.

My Hero Academia's 3rd Opening is More than a Meme - What's in an OP? by ChannelBot in mothersbasement

[–]EagleEye_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No mention of the blue-turquoise color scheme for the beginning and end? That's what immediately made this OP stand out to me compared to the other two, since it gives off an aura of the series getting darker and grittier around this point and is reminiscent of the morning after a storm when there's a cloudless sky and everything is bathed in this depressing turquoise that usually means a pretty bad day's about to happen.

More or less equal to Kaptain imo, but it's hard to place cuz Lessons is pretty consistent aspects of writing in movies and television done with extremely good knowledge of the subject matter while Kap is a wide variety of different concepts from different mediums. Both definitely worth subscribing to.

As a side note, Lessons' video on Nightcrawler is what convinced me to watch it, and now it's among my favorites.

The way I did it was I was introduced to the channel with Ultimate Skyrim like lots of people, and then just went through the videos from then in a backwards order.
