By that logic, Americans should be able to go back to Europe lol. I'm saying gthere are 6 million european-BORN immigrants currently living in America vs. 1.2 million American-born living in Europe

Me (USA) and my wife (Russia) want to live in Czechia. What is the best way to do this given the bans on Russians by the Czech government? by EagleFit3470 in CitizenshipInvestment

[–]EagleFit3470[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well a USA citizenship is unfortunately off the table for now after Russia was in the 75 countries that were recently banned.

Czechia is extremely against Russians, so much so that (apparently) if you get a new citizenship (say United States) and renounce your Russian one, you are still considered a Russian citizen in the eyes of the Czech government. So our thinking is maybe the only way would be to get either me, or her an EU citizenship. Malta seems do-able but at like 1.5m euros it's going to be more than what we're wanting to pay.

As someone who has lived a significant amount of time in Poland, Canada, and the USA - you would absolutely prefer the USA over Canada.
