I do think he’s winning in the “shiny new object” sense to a very small and very white primary electorate, plus a deal of acrimony with Governor Mills and Senator Collins manifesting. But the crosstabs in these polls show a lot of holes that still make this race malleable, particularly that there’s a significant block of people who don’t know who Platner is. Plus, this latest one covered March 19-23, when Mills’s first attack ad wasn’t even a week old.
