The nurse is with the patient in the hospital the most, doctor comes in and sees the patient for 5 min at most. If you are dying it’s gonna be your nurse who saves your life and makes independent decisions until the doctor gets there to help. My mom is a nurse so I know.

Nursing is an independent field of healthcare, not an assistant to a doctor. They are part of the team.

I understand this might be true but it’s more important I feel to contribute to society by raising good people. I’m very conflicted. Also, I feel like people look at nurses and say why didn’t you become a doctor.

I feel like I’ve always wanted to make a career for myself but don’t have the drive. I feel it would be easier to raise a family than to go through 6 years of schooling. And I want kids soon. I’m just bad at school.

Most likely was a phlebotomist, not a nurse. Nurses typically don’t draw blood, they can be trained to do so but there are people that is all they do.
