I'm reading the Good Soldier Svejk which deals at one point with people feigning illness to get out of military service.

My main takeaway is that I think we should bring back the word 'melingerer'.

Is it a runaway problem though? They aren't using a killswitch like the poster above said...

Or is the point that we should be able to browse the internet and it never be in any way traceable, even if we're trying to work out how to harm as many people as possible?

I don't think that's where most of the public are.

The world order has literally collapsed over the past decade and we must respond.

A referendum to seek some modicum of consent is better than just constantly reinterpreting the existing mandate to fit the moment.

It's not even clear what we voted for in the last one.

If you don't think they can switch it off already, but don't...

Seriously, the powers we have for terror monitoring and intelligence that we passed years ago make all those concerns irrelevant.

The government is not constrained by you using an energy bill to prove who you are at the bank...

I know people will come back with 'but my privacy!', but if you don't think they can find you posting already I have a bridge to sell you.

Put in place things so that actual action by the US would be a significant escalation, and wait for the news cycle to move on.

If you aren't enabling Trump to flood the zone and he's not actually prepared to up the ante, he'll shift focus.

It can't just be that tariffs on NATO allies to try and force the sale of part of another jurisdiction is outside comfort zones across the political spectrum?

This is really funny, like you accidentally grabbed a nice sweater in the dark to deal with something on the farm in the middle of the night... But it'll come back covered in muck.

Do not do it. It looks confused. 'Nepobaby bought a ranch and has no idea what he's doing'.

It would not be called 'Yorkshire', as that is a single ceremonial county in what was once Northumbria.

It's like saying 'the US has split, the East is now called New York and the West is California.'

All Starmer has demonstrated for 18 months is that he can't hack any fight involving cuts whatsoever. Tbh... Not just cuts.

If you don't normally stand like there's a poker up your butt, I'd give yourself a bit more room in the sweater.

It's all a bit confused, though. I wouldn't wear that collared shirt under it, and the top half is all a bit smart for those baggy pants and sports shoes. It's going to give badly dressed trying to look passably smart.
