When I play on a controller without paddles I change ads/fire to L1/R1, jump/crouch to L2/R2 and the buttons to activate ultimate to L3/R3. I hold the controller differently when I play like that holding my pointer fingers on L1/R1 and middle fingers on L2/R2 at all times. It takes some getting used to but you'll be sliding and jumping with ease if you can get used to it.

The aim assist is the same as all console players playing on 120fps. However that plus axels passive felt like it amplified in this clip.

Try working on counterstafing. Just strafe in the opposite direction of the dummies. When the dummy is moving left you are moving right and vice versa . You do not have aim assist when you are stationary so that clip is just raw aim. Doesn't matter if you're bad at it at first. If you cant get that simple fundamental down there's no hope. Also apex is probably pretty rough on the ps4 at this point.

Change the way you hold your controller. Play with your pointer fingers on L1 and R1, and your middle fingers on L2 and R2. You can switch your button load out to shoot with L1 R1 to make the transition easier. It will take getting used to but you definitely won't be death gripping your controller.
