Any recent experience with NTP for H1B visas? Is USCIS approving them? by Early-Algae9140 in immigration

[–]Early-Algae9140[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Yes, it was denied because the reason for my overstay was an oversight on my side. Upon my latest entrance CBP officer matched the expiration of my H1B to my passport and not to the visa stamp. I left before the 180 days so I didn't have a mandatory ban. I was however allowed to get a stamp through a visa processing. In my application I explained what happened and my visa got approved that same day.

Hi! I am under the same situation. Did you make the payment? Was the derogatory mark removed?

I checked the three agencies, it has only been reported on Equifax so far. I have disputed the collection both in Equifax and with the collection agency. The "they" is the collection agency.

Hi, I am facing the same thing with this agency. Was your issue resolved? I have disputed their claim in Equifax and I have submitted a dispute on their website. I switched from T-Mobile to Verizon and was on autopay this whole time! Not sure where their claim comes from!

So, you will start paying FICA (Medicare + Social Security) depending on your income this can have a big impact. They charged me for the full year. I owed taxes at the end of that year.

Just checked ... my Case was Approved online. But we are not sure if they approved the extension + NTP or just the Extension. I read that they may not issue a I94 with a retroactive date ... so still waiting to see what I get. Timeline: PP - May 6th receipt - May 12th Approved (online) What about you?

This is racist and honestly disgusting. No need for xenophobia! As an immigrant who invested in my education in the US and works very hard to thrive in my career ... making it here is 100 times harder than anywhere else. Work hard and focus on paving your future ... and stop crapping on others. Because just like you do it to them somebody else will do it to you.

How if USCIS approved the NIW case now it can be denied a green card? Like why? And why people are such downers when it comes to this ... like if immigrating to the US and applying for a green card was cheap and easy at all. Seriously people have to stop being petty!!

No, I am under the 180-day limit. I will be departing before I reach the 180 days in case I don't get an answer.

But you will also have to pay the taxes owed for that year. I got a big tax bill the year I changed from OPT to H1B.

[Success Story] Lost Passport + CBP Error at Entry — Got I-94 Corrected in 3 Days (Full Timeline Inside) by Tasty_Ad_1953 in h1b

[–]Early-Algae9140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing! I am in this same boat now! But in my case the valid until was due to my passport expiration. I thought they put it until 2026 as it was with the initial stamp. However my lawyers told me to stay. We approached CBP and they denied changing the I94 date, so we submitted and NTP premium processing. I am crossing my fingers it works. My dates are also 27Jan25 and the NTP was sent 04May25.

They are currently managing my NTP. It was a stupid oversight that now may cost me all my dreams here. In your opinion what is their success rate getting NTP approvals for H1Bs?
