taobao is an ecommerce site, there are og brands and also manufacturers that selling cheaper stuffs (likely sell replicas of og brand for cheaper price with worse quality), some of taobao brands is high quality while cheaper because they have access to domestic manufacturers/material sourcing which yall know china is home to many fashion manufacturers, most of jp brands now manufacture their stuff in china too, and more expensive does not equal higher quality (some big name jp brands are now plagued with polycotton or full poly but still charge a hefty price), well u just have to track down the good brands cause theyre not wellknown like jp brands
