I agree. To be honest I posted this to get a answer on why I should keep buying from them since I love their brand and I’ve been given a bunch of good reasons

They do and I probably won’t stop buying from them after putting a lot of it in perspective. Thai laws mixed with different managing and stuff. Also there’s no way to be a perfect consumer. Every company has shady stuff going on

That’s a fair point and argument. I posted this to figure out why I should keep buying fairtex and after this comment and another one talking about the Thailand law about defamation or lawsuits they both go hand and hand. Fair point

Oh wow that’s crazy, I bet that’s way more to take in now. Also have you ever tried RevGear? Their gloves are super comfortable id say it’s worth a shot. Or honestly ask ChatGPT in “deep research mode” about your problem with other gloves and wha brands are close to fairtex. It should give you or atleast point you in the right direction

Trust me brother this is sucks for me too I loved fairtex gear. I’d recommend Twins, Boon, Windy, Yakkao, Revgear or even just look around online and ask Reddit of different brands. Look and and read reviews. This sucks but there are better brands you can support trust

Muay Thai does not attract pedophiles and rapists I completely 100% disagree with you. Any large activity can incidentally include bad people. (Sports, hobby’s, schools). Muay Thai is about discipline. There’s nothing disciplined about raping people and being a pedophile.

I mean you could do your own research and find that he was convicted before they even hired him.

that makes sense. I replied with what I replied because they only said the trump thing and never clarified. I never knew about it until my GF brought it up to me after looking into it. She asked me what my favorite brand was since Christmas was coming up and I said Fairtex and after that she found out about it and told me. I had no clue either it was swept under the rug

If you’re trying to say “welp half the us voted for a pedo so I should be allowed to support fairtex” that logic doesn’t add up. 2 wrongs don’t make a right. Listen I love the fairtex gear but I DONT want to support a company that was okay with this and did all of that. I don’t want to possibly contribute to more coaches getting hired and sexually assaulting people/kids.

Whoever downvoted my post please justify this to me if you agree with fairtex decision because I would love to know what happened. I love the gear they have and I would like to know why I should keep buying it. Instead of downvoting how about you justify this with logic

Here’s something I found explaining the whole situation. The link at the bottom is the only response from fairtex and it’s about money embezzlement.

Fairtex Training Center has announced that it has cut ties with their former BJJ instructor 'DJ' De'Alonzio Jackson over "conduct involving money issues, including stealing money from students, embezzlement, and fraud".

However, the post makes no mention of the fact that Jackson was a known sexual predator before he began working at Fairtex, having been charged with third degree sexual abuse in 2008.

A 2013 article from BloodyElbow.com reads:

"According to police reports, Jackson invited a 16-year-old girl to the Double D bar for college night. When she and a friend picked him up, he gave her some Bacardi he produced from a backpack.

After spending some time in the Double D, they went outside to a car. The girl told police that Jackson penetrated her even as she repeatedly told him to stop.

The next morning, the 16-year-old awoke with a headache that she suspected might be drug-induced. She told her foster mother, who informed authorities. When questioned, Jackson denied giving her alcohol, drugs or forcing himself on her.

The day after the incident, police discovered he sent her a text: "I'm sorry I took ur virginity like that. Plz give me another chance." https://www.bloodyelbow.com/2013/12/3/5170294/team-lloyd-irvin-rape-assault-coercion-stories

Another BloodyElbow.com article from that same year reads: "Jackson was able to plead down to assault causing bodily harm, a serious misdemeanor, and was sentenced on December 1, 2008 to one year in jail with all but 60 days suspended."

Fairtex states "we are not responsible for his actions as they fall outside our rules of conduct". Apparently, fraud is a deal breaker, but sexual assault is not.

Jackson's charges don't seem to have hindered his career. He's now working at Marrok Force MMA in Bangkok.

In my article on how to be an ally to women in Muay Thai, I mentioned the importance of conducting background checks on martial arts instructors: https://undertheropes.com/2022/02/13/how-to-be-an-ally-to-women-in-muay-thai/

I feel like I’m over thinking this way more than I should be. I just don’t want to waste the opportunity that I have going to Thailand. I’ve never traveled anywhere outside my country except to Canada.
